What happens if Trump decides not to run for re-election?

Then you’d be disagreeing with absolute fact.

They should have gained even more seats in the house and taken control of the senate just to keep up with the averages of previous first term midterms.

It takes time for policies to have significant effects and barring something unforeseen we’ll see those effects in full force well before the 2020 election.

By then in spite of the 90% negative press people will begin to see that Trump’s policies have indeed strengthened the country and improved their lives.

Cruz didn’t lie, all he voted for regarding it was a procedural vote to bring it before the full senate.

Nobody said the VP always wins, but they do usually get the nomination if they choose to run for it.

The republicans have had a solid conservative platform, the problem is that there aren’t enough conservatives to push it through.

Define ‘A Solid Conservative Platform’ Conservatism within the Republican Party is about as nebulous as what it means to be a Libertarian.

Read the 2016 Republican platform for starters then work your way back.

Unfortunately conservatives only make up about 30% of the party but as candidates they pretty well all pretend to be conservatives.

McCain was a great example. He pretended to be a conservative every time he was up for reelection but was as likely to side with dem’s on very important issues time and again.

Its not polite to answer a question with a question… A lot of people talk about what a Conservative is and what the constitution means to them but their seems to be a lot of different answers to the question… Bill Krysol would call himself a Conservative… do you agree?

I would call Kristol the literal definition of an east coast Blue Blood Elitist.

Of course he did, your just in denial of that fact! Cruz is a politician and all politicians lie! To not understand that as being a truth is foolishly naive!

Actually I disagree. If Trump was “politically” correct and was a true statement he would have lot more appeal IMO. His policies crosses political aisle and even as far as being mainstream.

Notice how libs didn’t run against Trump policies but against Trump himself during the midterm election.

That there should speak volume.

They lost 40 seats. many of them in blood red districts. They barely defeated two openly socialist candidates in a red state (Georgia) and swing state (Florida)

There are other examples too, such as their dismal performance in the midwest in other races.

If they don’t find a way to win back more women, suburban voters, minorities and young voters they are going to lose.

No, he didn’t lie. Voting to bring the bill to the floor is simply a procedural vote, it’s not a vote on the bill itself or it’s merits.

And they beat the average by a long shot. The dem’s should have picked up another dozen seats in the house and wrestled control away in the senate just to keep up with the past trend and they did neither.

Ok well confirmation bias is a bitch, his lying had nothing to do with his procedural vote! Again do your research! I sense we will never agree, so let’s just drop it because there are way smarter and more informed people than you and me that don’t share your opinion! So you can beat a dead horse all you want at the end of the day facts win out!

You make the accusation, it’s up to you to support it.

He didn’t lie, the supposed lie was over a procedural vote.

I did provide it for you, you just chose to ignore it!

Also I don’t want to get into a pissing contest with you on this when there is plenty of evidence that Cruz was and always has been a Globalist shill! Doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure that out, just follow the money! Is it no wonder he nearly escaped an election loss in the recent mid-term? Point is Cruz will never be president!

You’ve provided nothing. Cruz always opposed TPP.

Hell even politifact had to admit it.

Cruz said he has always opposed the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The record shows that he took no position on the treaty itself until the full text became public. Then he said he opposed it.

Right! Politifact? Seriously? That is your source for supporting your argument? Yeah OK! (Sarcasm)! Your confirmation bias reeks and now you just lost credibility in this argument! Truly you are misinformed and there is nothing left for me to argue on this! Have a nice day sir! Don’t let facts hit you over the head in your blind man love!

Yes I’ll stand by that because it’s true.

TPA-Fast Track Authority.

TPP-Trans Pacific Partnership.

TAA-Training assistance package for people who’s jobs were lost overseas.

He always opposed TPP, He favored the concept of Fast Track Authority until the actual bill came out. He supported TAA.

Three different things and he was on the right side of each of them.

President Trump will run again and win again.

As long as he wants to run, the economy is good and we don’t get sucked into an unpopular war you’re probably right.

I’m not at all convinced though that he wants to run in 2020.
