I donā€™t struggle with beer consumption at allā€¦ It comes easily to meā€¦ as does Bourbon consumption.

Ha! It comes easily to me too. Strange thing is, when I moved back to the US from Germany last September, my drinking habits didnā€™t change. My food consumption didnā€™t change either. What did change was my weight. 6 foot and 185 for my entire adult life. 6 months back in the US and I am up to 205. Hasnā€™t gone up or down despite abstaining from alcohol for weeks on end and trying to remove any high fructose corn syrup from the house (which is harder than you might think).

Wife is German and she gained 15 pounds, but it went to her tits and ass, so I donā€™t mind. She bitches about it incessantly though.

Sugar is a killer, especially in beer. As Plato says, all things in moderation, too much of anything and it can have toxic results.

I get that. But - I drank a ton of beer in Germany. Daily. No issues. I get back here and I blow the fuck up!

Youā€™d be surprised how having good gut health drastically changes your entire body feel. I recently made a change to address this issue and within the first week I started noticing changes. I had higher energy levels, alertness, I didnā€™t feel tired after eating, no more bloating, gas, and my sleep even improved to have more restful sleeps.

Age also changes our body such as metabolism slowing down, so things like drinking beer in our youth was no problem because we could burn it off easily, but not so much now.

What specifically did you do? Culturally, my wife is from a little forest town in Bavaria. There is no way we are going to cut beer out of the equation. It is a daily ritual in this house no different than it was over in Deutschland.

We are both very conscious of the weight gain and the sluggish feeling we have both experienced since moving back stateside. Itā€™s the weirdest damn thing and we canā€™t pinpoint it.

We thought age might be the culprit - I am 42 and sheā€™s 38, but the weight gain and sluggish feeling occured simultaneously. The odds of our metabolisms slowing down simultaneously are nill.

Itā€™s the glysophate. The EU has incredibly high governance in place when it comes to glysophate application. Itā€™s still used, but not to the same absurd levels here in the US.

Try cutting glysophate out if you want to put life on hard mode but see noticable and immediate changes.

I went to the Mediterranean diet, limited Calorie intake per day, and exercised more too.

The Mediterranean diet focuses on having good gut health.

Here is a list of foods that it incorporates
Herbs and s-pices
Fruits
Vegetables
Healthy fats, such as olive oil or avocado oil
Nuts, including natural nut butters
Seeds (chia, pumpkin, flax and more)
Fish
Eggs
Meat
Poultry
Legumes (chickpeas, pinto beans, lentils and more)
Dairy, including cheese, yogurt and kefir
Whole grains (bulgur, farro, fonio, freekeh, couscous, rice and more)

Probiotic-Rich Foods:

Yogurt
Kefir
Miso
Sauerkraut
Kimchi
Tempeh
Kombucha

Prebiotic-Rich Foods:

Garlic
Leeks, especially the green part
Asparagus
Artichokes
Bananas
Seaweed
Jerusalem artichokes
Dandelion greens
Soybeans
Mushrooms
Oats

These are nutrient dense foods and whole.

I got this list from this site and it has a 7 day meal plan. I tried doing it last month and boy I have to tell you I feel 100X better than I have in a long time. Way more energy and the recipes are not hard to prepare.

I am not sure about your beer consumption part, and I think if you limit your quantity per day, then I think you will be OK, but remember sugar lines your intestines and can lead to inflammation if not addressed such as proper cleansing from time to time.

Anyway here is the link

How does one do that if say for example is getting into the water table, or you canā€™t control your neighbors use of it?

Photographic evidence about your wife or it didnā€™t happen  only joking donā€™t mean to be disrespectful

To be honest with you Iā€™ve heard this so many times peopleā€™s diets do not change peopleā€™s exercising habits do not change yet their weight changes dramatically so many videos online of the same products available in the US and Europe with completely different ingredients America having three times the chemical ingredients

I read recently that 1 in 14 American boys are being diagnosed with ADHD I believe this is linked to the chemicals in the food

The crazy thing about autism is the easiest and most reliable way to detect autism in a child is to pull out a Strand of their hair and if that Strand has heavy metals in it the child is autistic

The medical and food industry and potentially companies involved in the water systems have an awful lot to answer for in terms of the damage theyā€™ve done to younger generations in my opinion Nuremberg trial levels

I know. I donā€™t consume sugar on purposeā€¦ I use it in/on nothing. The only sugar I get is whatā€™s in the food or beverageā€¦ naturally or otherwise.

That is why I donā€™t eat processed foods.

That goes to show how much poison they put in our food in the USA. I am older nowā€¦will be 65 at the end of September. I was always an athlete involved in competitive Martial Arts and Tennis through my mid twenties. I have struggled to stay at 160/5 at 5ā€™ 9" for most of my life since quitting those two things. Iā€™m at 190 now.

I am at the point in life that I no longer worry about ā€œlooking goodā€ for anyoneā€¦lol. I learned to cook and now I just eat whatever I wantā€¦lol. Been divorced for 11 years and not looking for women anymore, soā€¦

I would like to slim down to 170 but I just canā€™t seem to find the motivation to do it. I drink Bourbon every evening and at least two beers every day.

I did the same for many yearsā€¦ watched everything that went in my mouth. I guess itā€™s just easier to buy food and eat it than to have to worry about every ingredient. Not the best, for sure, but it is what it is at this point in my life.

I used to be that way too, also with cigars. Then one day I decided to change that. You donā€™t have to give it up, but consistency to lose weight and being in shape is a life style change that you have to want for yourself. I donā€™t want to be one of those people using a walker at 80, but one that still is digging the dirt. Gene Hackman is out there still doing shoveling on his ranch. I want to be like that, Clint Eastwood the same!

Other than being a little overweight, Iā€™m in good shape. I work every day and keep moving. Sitting still still is what will get you!

That is good and I agree sitting still is never good.
