Warrior Well Being and Health Thread 🏃‍♂️ 🥋

This thread is dedicated to anything relating to Healthy Lifestyles, good Living, Exercise, Good Mental Health, Dieting and anything that affects us positively for both inner and outer growth and positive healing health.

There too many times I wanted to share things related to this topic but haven’t had a thread to do so with, and of course I am sure there are others here who can share their remedies, diets, healthy recipes etc., so I equally want to learn from others as well. Please feel free to share your suggestions to good positive healthy living because as warriors we need to be both physically and mentally strong to fight the war that is being waged against us.

I will start off by suggesting and recommending cold showers and why they can benefit you.

10 Best ways to lose belly fat in 90 days:

How to relax in the evenings:

Thank me later…

  1. Exercise or physical labour

•Lift weight 3-5X a week
•Weights burn more calories than cardio
•Walk 10-20k steps a day for optimal health

Sore muscles = Growth hormone spike that burns fat.

4. Eat lots of protein

•Fills you up
•Essential minerals and vitamins
•Eat 0.8-1g of protein per pound of body weight

Health hack: Before a meal, drink 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar for better digestion (dilute in water).

5. Avoid people who stress you out

Spend time with people who:

•Exercise
•Eat healthy
•Open minded
•Take responsibility
•Hold you accountable

Hang out with 5 fit people, and you will be the 6th.

Stress = Cortisol

Cortisol turns protein, fat, and ketones into sugar.

  1. Intermittent fasting

When you eat within a time frame of 4-8 hours a day, you give your digestive system a rest.

You will have:

•Clarity
•More energy
•Fewer cravings

Ask your doctor before you fast.

7. Drink more water

•Healthy skin
•You look younger
•Better metabolism
•Gets rid of cravings (sparkling water)

Drink 2-4L daily (depending on activity)

I use a Berkey water filter for good water.

8. Avoid these:

•Alcohol
•Too many carbs
•Too much sugar

These increase insulin levels

High insulin stops fat burning (interrupts ketosis)

  1. Don’t try to be perfect

•Eat 80% healthy
•Eat 20% whatever you want

Trying to be perfect creates unrealistic expectations you can’t stop thinking about.

Strive for excellence, not perfection.

  1. Lower your calories

You need to be in a calorie deficit of 300-500 calories.

If you struggle with cravings, try this:

•Black coffee
•Sparkling water
•Drinking more fluid
•Brush your teeth after supper
•Eat slower (or eat with chopsticks).

HOW TO BECOME A BEAST IN 6 MONTHS:

  1. Fix your schedule and sleep at 9 PM to be awake at 4 AM.

This will help you start your day earlier and give you more productive hours.

  1. No more excuses - work out for 30 minutes daily.

This isn’t just about physical health but mental clarity and discipline as well.

  1. Incorporate fresh fruits into your daily diet.

This small step can greatly optimize your health and energy levels.

  1. Listen more than you talk. Being teachable is an overlooked form of strength.

  2. Learn to say “NO” unapologetically. Stay focused and mind your own business.

  3. Read 10+ pages daily. Reading sharpens your mind, expands your perspective, and fuels creativity.

  4. Every 3 months, learn a new skill. Spend the following 90 days developing it. It’s about growth and self-improvement.

  5. Begin your day with a morning walk after drinking two glasses of water. This aids digestion and kickstarts your metabolism.

  6. Sleep for 6 hours a day. Good sleep helps reset your focus, boost your mood, and ensures you’re refreshed for the day.

  7. Practice meditation. It creates a gap between feeling an impulse and acting on it. This helps with emotional regulation and focus.

  8. Spend the next 6 months doing something solely for yourself. You owe it to yourself.

  9. Aim for 4 hours of deep, focused work each day, instead of 8+ hours of busyness. Prioritize quality over quantity.

  10. Allocate time for close friends and family during your weekends. Relationships matter, and quality time is invaluable.

30 minutes daily is “me” time that is but a second in the infinite time spectrum, not much time to accomplish such goals.

30 seconds is a drop in the bucket. Putting in the work and getting the benefits outweighs the pain you will fill while doing it!

Iron sandal race

I actually would be interested to see a video of this. :cowboy_hat_face:

Walking 42 km in one day wearing iron sandals (only 2.5 kg each, much lighter than the iron sandals above which make you drag heavy chains as well LOL) plus some other weight as part of his karate training.
(I didn’t watch the entire video, so I don’t know if he made it)

Oh hell no! No way would I do this.

As part of a conditioning training program I guess makes for tougher feet!

Traditional socks like these will help to prevent blisters.

Interestingly, such sandals (made with rubber for the beach, called flipflops or thongs in Australia) were worn by the Japanese but never by the Chinese or Koreans.

I think iron sandals will strengthen the muscles in the legs. I don’t know which muscles, though.

I think I will be touring Japan and maybe I have to try these Iron sandals.

I heard it said that regret of not having done certain things gnaws at you more than the regret of having done certain things.

I have regrets of both types, and I have to agree with whomever who said it.
