okay, but I never said that the death penalty is a deterrent, Ive never said the death penalty causes this subculture to produce habitual criminals
All I said was the death penalty should be used for the punishment of heinous crimes
Using the death penalty in places like Chicago or Detroit isnt going to stop black on black gang killing
Putting them in Super max prison being locked up for 23 hours day may wake some of them up, just like how its contributing the declining Italian mob numbers
The death penalty for Rapists, child molesters, mass murders, serial killers, Terrorists who kill, those who kill law enforcement, murdering a witness to a crime , I’m sure If forgotten a few , those crimes deserves the death penalty .
we need to make the prison system like it was in the old days of Alcatraz, unpleasant
I hear you. I personally think it was a disservice to people to try to defend the death penalty as a deterrent … those opposed wouldnot care and those undecided are then opened to the manipulation of statistics.
I think that it’s use to uphold the value and dignity of human life, that those that murder men will by men be killed, is better.
Or even that some people just need to be put out of our misery.
Also, the prison system is unpleasant. It was 19th Century progressives that decided to try for penitence rather than just punishment. They made their prisons hellholes with a purpose, but their methodologies produced maniacs and we’re still paying the price.
We should return to public executions and not use lethal Injection. Maybe some people will wake up if they see criminals beheaded or hung from a crane. It won’t stop everyone, but some people will think twice before they commit a capital crime.
Newark, New Jersey number three, no death penalty.
Baltimore, Maryland number 5, no death penalty.
Cincinnati, Ohio number 8, technically still has the DP but under moritorium.
Oakland, CA number 9, No DP.
If you expand it to the top 20 you get another 7/10 cities with the highest murder rates in non DP states.
The only state with a real “fast track” is Texas, in the rest the convicts can pretty well count on 2-3 decades or longer in prison following conviction before being executed so again, not much of a deterrent.
It’s a concern of the woman who is raped. It doesn’t take a genius to know that it’s more likely that the rapist will be caught if there is a living witness. It also doesn’t take a genius to know that rapists don’t want to be caught … particularly if they know they will die for it even if they don’t kill the woman. It’s not rocket science.
I see your point but most are going to wear some kind of a disguise so as not to be identified. Dead or alive, there will always be a plethora of DNA evidence left behind as well.
Really? Don’t you believe part of them is murdered? There is other than physical murder. There is mental & emotional murder. After a rape, few victims are completely whole again. No one ( NO ONE ) has the right to lay hands on another innocent human being.
If fear of them getting caught was that much of a concern they’d not be raping in the first place.
Or, put another way, do you really think any random criminal, who isn’t in organized crime, does their thing constantly assessing the risks or capture etc?
samm, Im not going to pretend that I understand the mind of a rapist, From what ive read , rapist rape for power and some for sexual gratification
I think I read somewhere that a high number of them knows their victims in some fashion
but most of these scumbag usually disguise themselves no?
for one to rape randomly and then kill them if they believe they are going to be identified or wish not to be identified means they are a socio path, no law will be a deterrent to them
The best solution is to catch them and eliminate them , learn as much about them maybe prevent some future attacks
but catching them and eliminating them is a great start
Executions shouldn’t be public, no fanfare, no side show, just a cursory announcement in the obituaries as if it was the most ordinary thing in the world.
Also, the cheapest method should be used: hanging vs the guillotine … hanging is cheaper on materials but requires a skilled hangman, a guillotine is a bigger investment but takes no skill.
Of course in the Austin area we Texans have a large supply of flat multiton rocks we could drop on the condemned … just sop up whatever leaks out from underneath the rock, put a cheap marker on it and the executed is already buried.
Did you read my post??? Now, who here feels Public Crucifixion is too severe? [

You can use the post & beam over & over & over. You can also use the lag bolts & fender washers over. Initial investment pretty low.
This kind of brutality has been common among invading tribes across history and the current age will be no exception. People better start reframing in their mind what is going on here, overriding their diversity training program.
I prefer burial at sea…immediately following a double tap to the head with 12 gauge slugs fired at point blank range.
Just have them stand blindfolded at the edge of a barge, with a ten foot chain locked around their ankles and bolted to a 30 pound weight. Blow their brains out and push the body and the weight overboard.
Not true. Most rapists do not disguise themselves (as noted before, they don’t have to be geniuses.) Furthermore, it doesn’t work like on CSI on TV. Rape kits (which includes the DNA samples) are backlogged years in many if not most jurisdictions. And even if the kit is tested, DNA only helps to catch someone if their DNA is on record. In the majority of cases, it is really only good to convict the person after they are caught, and the DNA compared to the suspect in custody.
