The Rabbit Hole

I won’t say he appears to have taken steroids or not, what I would say is if he has he should have taken some stronger ones
Body builders on steroids grow to ridiculous proportions today much bigger than Arnold ever did due to the scientific knowledge and strength of drugs now available.
There will undoubtedly be people like this guy who maintain their muscularity without steroids but I know through never taking them but training with those that did, that you have to work much harder without. Even then it will be almost impossible to reach to same muscular size as someone on steroids. All this of course still dependant on body type and dedication.
Like some smokers there will be some people who take steroids and live out there lives healthily into their 90’s and some. There have certainly been cases of those who have abused steroids and died suddenly.
Training in a gym and forming a muscular body won’t cause you to suffer ill health but I totally agree with your statement “The things people do to be popular borders on insanity” :+1:

Like you said it would be almost impossible to reach that level of muscular size, some know to use it as a starter, then taper off to where it looks close to natural.

Take high absorption curcumin, boswelia and vitamin D, probably around 2000iu. If you take vitamin D, you should have K2 as well. Curcumin and boswelia are highly anti inflammatory and go together well. As you get older, your vitamin D absorption decreases and being 51 degrees north here, you won’t get enough from the sun year round. In recent research, they have found vitamin D deficiency in people with joint problems.

Aside from knees, if ever you feel the need for Ibuprofen, try curcumin first. It often works.

I don’t think meatheads are attractive anyway. Definition, not bulk.

This guy is as crazy as Danny MacAskill.

In my mind using them at any time is a risk that I was certainly never willing to take but you are right some start them and then continue without, I saw varying degrees of usage in the gym.

The guy in Jen’s video in pure bodybuilding terms is really small but some people would still use steroids even to get to his level because it is a much faster route.
It really depends what you train for… bulk; tone; shape; stamina, strength. This will all determine how you train and whether you feel that you need steroids.

The world champion bodybuilders who compete like the attached (if they are honest) all admit there is only one way to achieve their size and it is steroids, huge amounts of healthy foods and ridiculous amounts of training. (Not the old guy in the second vid :rofl:)

It still also helps to have a specific body type to win at the highest level.

There is no requirement though for any of the rest of us mortals to not go to the gym and tone up. In my opinion, I believe it is still a really healthy thing to do for the body. Throughout my years of training I was absolutely never ill, never had an ache or pain that I hadn’t knowingly induced in the gym, and my ability to heal from a routine was super fast. I suspect guys who continue (not excessively ) into old age will continue to be able to say the same.

Ugh. How on earth do they think that is attractive? Real fitness is attractive! And steroids shrink other parts.

I take vitamin-D, but like most things I forget a bit too often…

I especially liked the bit at 1:22

Read of the benefits of Turmeric. I use that and Fish Oil gell caps daily.

Science Natural Supplements brand with BioPerine claims Max Absorption.

It would be hard to say what drives people to go for levels of “hugeness”, however those winning the top titles achieve vast wealth through sponsorship, paid events, etc.

Agreed, huge muscular size isn’t everyones image of “attractive”, for me, I have always had a healthy respect for individuals who keep their bodies in shape. It is probably what has motivated me to do the same, albeit without ever being able to develop huge muscle bulk.

This has always been my mental image of “real fitness”: :relaxed:

No it is not turmeric you want. It is curcumin, the active compound in turmeric. Curcumin is 3% of turmeric. To get the same effects as taking pure curcumin (with black pepper extract to aid absorption) you would need to eat kilos of it daily.

Edit: ok, kilos is an exaggeration.

Isn’t absorption a problem even with pepper - I thought most of it ends up in the toilet?

Apparently black pepper extract helps. How, I don’t know. I can’t vouch for absorption as I don’t have a condition to treat. This is what I get. I take one a day for maintenance, but if you have something that needs treating, you can take 3 a day.

Turmeric is Curcuma Longa root 1200mg

  • 95% Curcuminoids 100mg
  • BioPerine® 10mg

I repeat: Read the benefits of Turmeric. Don’t take my word for it…but it works for me. I take 2 Veggie Capsules per day.

Use your own judgement about taking it.

Here are some differences between benefits of Turmeric and Curcumin.

Curcumin is a component in the root, at 3%.

Read what you quoted of me.

Do you doubt what is presented in…

Turmeric vs Curcumin: Which Should You Take?

There are differences in the benefits of the two. Turmeric is good for some things that Curcumin is not. Curcumin is good for some things that Turmeric is not.

Depending on what the user wants, a choice is available. I choose Turmeric…and it works well for me.

That’s why we have chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Different strokes for different folks.
