No I wasn’t. Did I refer to this Supreme Court ruling? You put two and two together and saw something in your head. Boris said we are leaving on the 31st as the law stands. The Benn act demands he has to request an extension from the EU if no deal is struck. Thereby in itself is a conflict in UK law. You cannot make someone do something they do not want to do! If someone won’t do their job, you sack them, not prosecute! However, the opposition refuse to call a vote of no confidence in Boris because that would lead to a general election. Boris said, “let the people decide.” Labour said no. Do you know why? Because Boris would stomp it. How is that for democracy. You lefties only bleat on about democracy when it goes your way. When it doesn’t, you want a dictatorship.
The Supreme court only said the suspension was illegal. It gave no directive. What should Boris do, go back to the Queen? That is how it works here, they can’t just reopen the doors. What if Boris won’t do it? The Queen will only listen to her Prime Minister, no one else. Then what? Jail Boris? What for, not doing his job? You libs would love that.
Article 50 says we are leaving on the 31st. That is the Lisbon treaty as well as UK law. Unfortunately or fortunately we are still part of the EU and have to abide by the Lisbon Treaty. That is in direct conflict of the Benn act if no deal is struck. Which one takes precedence? Obviously EU law. So why are you getting your knickers in such a twist when I simply state the bleeding obvious?
…and in the Lisbon Treaty the UK Supreme Court was subjugated to the European Courts of Justice. Therefore the UK no longer has dominion over its own laws.
No, all you need are a few well rehearsed questions.
Such as:
“How do you know that climate change is happening”?
“How do you know that these doomsayers are not sponsored by the nuclear power industry”?
“Did you know that the earth’s atmosphere used to be 50% CO2”?
edit: I missed out the obvious one:
“What caused the three most recent ice-ages to start and finish”?
… the current atmosphere was created by primitive plants photosynthesising and removing the Carbon whilst leaving the Oxygen upon which we all depend, and which spawned all the current higher life forms.
There’s really no such thing as “international law.” Sometimes sovereign nations sign treaties that they subsequently incorporate into their own national laws. Other times they voluntarily agree to abide by certain international agreements and practices for a variety of reasons. In any event nations voluntarily abide by international agreements but these agreements never supersede national laws.
Unfortunately we signed up to the Lisbon treaty so that is incorporated into our law - I think
I understand completely the conflict between those who want to Brexit and those who don’t. But by unanimous vote, the UK Supreme Court ruled that Johnson’s prorogation was unlawful…
