All great civilizations run their course. We are not immune. I personally believe the root of all human misery is, in some way, shape, or form, GREED! For far too many, enough is just never enough. Anyway one day our Sun will go super nova; so there’s that. In my personal study of today’s human condition, I see too much instant gratification, little depth; but I guess that more or less applies to all of history. We have just been handed a more efficient method to go down in flames faster. On the bright side; once mankind is erased from the planet, the Earth will clean itself up in just a few million years. Just a blip in geologic time.

Here is what pisses me off about this whole thing. The majority of us here who have deployed and seen combat aren’t cheering on another fucking pointless war. I fought in two of those already. I watched friends die and now see their kids growing up without their father. Fuck war. If you all can’t see this is all to advance Israeli interests in the region then you are willfully blind to reality. This does not advance American interests. So please stop with the rah rah rah support our troops bullshit. If you people actually supported the troops you wouldn’t be cheering to send them off to get maimed or killed for no good reason. I’m fucking sick of armchair patriots. If you want to go to war then nut up and go yourselves.
Actually hind sight is 20/20 and as much as Obama was detestable as he was treasonous he did one thing that was good! He not only saved us from McStain, but Romney too which eventually got us Trump. Along the way on this journey also provided the nation an opportunity to open its eyes and awaken to the darker realities of how we were played! That’s a good thing IMO. A greater awareness on the socio conscious level can’t be underestimated in staying engaged politically as we as a people face our truths of what lays ahead.
And this is how you tell the difference between people who have been in combat and people who haven’t. I’m with you, brother.

There seems to be strong support here for opposing Trump on continued and senseless war in the ME. I hope it exists amongst his base elsewhere and trickles up to him.
Most people don’t want war - and that is the proper answer if you are a sane individual. But what we want even less is a government that sends untold billions, that are used to buy weapons and for terrorism against us and our allies, under the guise of buying peace. Those pallets of cash didn’t buy food an shelter for the Iranian people.
I was a 19K for 10 years before becoming a 13P. I’ve got 3 Iraq and 2 Afghanistan deployments.
It’s obvious Trump doesn’t want a war with anyone but he also can’t let anyone attack an embassy without repercussions.
Trump did the right thing.
They funded terror operations and clandestine combat operations against the US and our allies.
The only reason we are in that hell hole part of the globe is because of 9/11/2001!! We left their miserable barbaric behinds alone until they came to us and waged war against us by mass murdering over 3000 Americans.
