Hey, guess what!
Nobody is talking about the shitty jobs report.
Hey, guess what!
Nobody is talking about the shitty jobs report.
Suddenly, 700k people decided they didn’t want to work and dropped out of the labor force. That magically helped it drop from 8.4 to 7.9%.
Also, only 275k were added in the household report, way below the jobs report…
Yeah, I’ve taken to looking at employment rates / “percentage of [demographic] employed” statistics instead, ever since learning that the official U.S. unemployment rate excludes “discouraged workers”.
Suddenly… Democrat governors all over the country shut down their economies over a dealdy virus that has a 99% survival rate.
Pretty sinister, these “progressives”. I have bad news for you
They don’t have the (fake) virus, and they are not at Walter Reed.
Way to deflect from your own pathetic expression here. We were talking about what you posted and not what others have expressed in the past. You can now officially stop trying to preach from the moral high ground when you yourself have none! Good job in exposing what we already knew you to be and what most leftists are: Giant hypocrites! Remember when you accuse others of being something is exactly what you yourself are guilty of!
The left most certainly downplays the deaths due to fear of going to the hospital, etc. as fallout from COVID. They’re more concerned about masks.
It just amazes me how out of touch with reality they are. The recent posts in this thread is proof enough of that being true!
It’s cognitive dissonance plus some other disorders sprinkled in
Please don’t accuse me of spamming but my answer in this thread is the same as another thread I just posted in:
Trump put his money where his mouth is and has now been proven correct. Corona is not the real enemy, rather the FEAR of Corona that the Left is using to destroy the economy is the real enemy, and Trump has proven that you need not fear it.
Michael Moore is Boorish mutt-bitch of the far left. He’s their Goebel Minister of Propaganda. The LEFT have already “weaponized” the issue of COVID-19 since day 1. Bans travel from several countries = called Xenophobic. Enlists several companies to mass produce ventilators in Quicktime = called a do-nothing president. Stands by and watches the MSM and the Farleftwingnuts totally weaponize the pandemic for political purposes and like a gimp-bitch here come Moore accusing the POTUS of everything THEY have done…the entire LEFT has a bad case of Borderline Personality Disorder…I’m predicting a LANDSLIDE because of their bullshit and for that reason I’m LOVING their idiocy.
And I was told that I am the guy who makes the forum look bad. Wow.
I actually agree.
Mega Dittos
You are a good person.
And who do you worship, Satan?
Someday you will pay for all your hate and lies
The big Democrat hero once said that All we have to fear is fear itself. He was right and Trump has proved it right.
Democrats are all about hate and fear: The party of slavery, KKK, racism, hate, and now Covid fear…
Trump put his money where his mouth is and proved that fear is the real enemy.
Trump will survive, be re-elected, and go down in history as the greatest POTUS ever
On Trump’s COVID infection…you never know how to take what these chuckleheads say, because they have delusions of competence that lead them to the false confidence that they are clever enough to put over some brilliant plan that wouldn’t serve their purposes even if they could get away with it. With that caveat, let me outline the most likely take on all that we have been told so far, at least the most likely at 11:30 Eastern Time on Sunday, October 4, 2020. The picture could look quite different 30 minutes from now.
I start with the assumption that Trump really did test positive. Getting caught lying about that would be pretty devastating, and the medical people who could give that story the lie are more likely to leak about it, based on some remaining shreds of professionalism in the medical field, compared to the other folks in a position to know the truth.
I next make the somewhat shakier assumption that the president is tested every day, and so his test result Thursday means that is the first day he had enough virus up his nose to test positive.
It is not particularly common to have even mild symptoms the first day or so, and certainly not air hunger, with the “falling oxygen levels” mentioned. It is really, really unlikely, almost impossible, that someone on Day #2 of PCR-positivity would have the virus already down in his lungs, already having established a pneumonia that is causing hypoxia. The patient was short of breath from anxiety. The pulse ox may actually have shown a low reading, but they often do unless you position them just right on the finger, and you have a patient who is patient and cooperative enough to not fidget and work it off the just right position so that it has time to register an accurate oxygen saturation. He was given oxygen because he’s the president, and the sort of patient who feels free to use that power status to get what he wants from the medical people around him, and he wanted oxygen, so he got it. They had to give him all sorts of treatments, of dubious efficacy even in severe cases, and definitely not appropriate for someone with minimal symptoms, to talk him down to the point that he let them take away the oxygen, which is not good to be on unless you actually need it.
Trump clearly did not need the oxygen he was given initially, because while COVID so severe that you need oxygen on Day#2 is pretty incredible, needing oxygen early that day, but not needing it a few hours later and being able to walk to the helicopter unassisted, is just flat out impossible. None of the therapies he was given that day produce quick recovery. Nothing does. The one COVID treatment that might produce results within hours to days would be IV steroids, but you only give that to people doing badly enough that they actually need oxygen. Among all the unproven exotic treatments they mention giving him, they do not tell us that he got steroids, a fairly vanilla treatment that, if only given for a few days, is extraordinarily low-risk. We don’t give people with mild or no symptoms steroids, because corticosteroids are immunosuppressant. They help people with severe disease because it’s the immune system gone non-specifically hyperactive that is doing the life-threatening damage at that point. But giving it to people who don’t yet and may never have even the beginnings of this “cytokine storm”, has the at least theoretical danger that it’s not a great idea to suppress cell-mediated immunity in a patient trying to fight off a virus. He didn’t get steroids because he only had mild to no (real) symptoms.
The decision to go to the hospital was pretty clearly not dictated by medical people. In his little podcast from WRAMC, Trump runs down for us the options he was given Friday by the medical people for his condition, which is test-positive but mild to no symptoms. He was told he had to isolate for ten days, even if he remained asymptomatic. Trump basically tells us in his podcast that he chose to isolate at WRAMC rather than back at the WH, where he would have been isolated in the residence. Again, he would not have been given that choice if he had hospitalizable symptoms - he must have had mild to no symptoms, never actually requiring oxygen.
Going to WRAMC for the 10-day isolation was either a political or a personal choice, not a medical one. Maybe it’s as simple as Trump preferring isolation at WRAMC for creature comfort reasons. Perhaps the help at WRAMC is more responsive than a WH staff grown surly and insufficiently attentive to his personal needs – who knows? But maybe, especially after the kerfuffle involved in Trump getting oxygen that he really didn’t need, Trump and/or his handlers thought the best PR move was to play up the severity of the illness. He had to isolate, and that meant the public had to be told, so why not milk it for some sympathy for Trump, the survivor of a COVID attack serious enough that he needed oxygen, plus all those experimental treatments. Of course he felt the need to ostentatiously walk to the helicopter with cameras rolling, despite oxygen supposedly being needed mere hours prior, because he’s got those incredible genes that leave him healthy enough to shrug off infections that would fell a lesser man, like, say, Biden. The incredible genes, plus this, that under his wise and steady leadership, probably with his bioscience input at key junctures, the medical industry has ginned up these miracle cures that let a patient who only hours before needed oxygen walk to his helicopter. These cures will soon be available to you too, if you give the industry a free hand at charging enough to make the miracles possible. So, no more Gloomy Gus talk from Ds who just want to ruin the economy, about how incurable the Chinese flu is.
All of this is not to say that Trump might not worsen in the coming week. Just because the need for oxygen on Friday was bogus, just because he appears pretty solidly non-sick in his podcast and in the walk to the helicopter, does not in any way guarantee that his case of COVID is going to remain minimally symptomatic to asymptomatic. But no, the ongoing possibility of worsening is absolutely no reason, no medical reason, to do the 10-day isolation in a hospital rather than at the WH. He could be examined at the WH by providers as often every day as anyone could possibly imagine would be useful to catching any worsening early. There is zero medical reason for the patient in that podcast to be in a hospital.
But, that said, he is plenty old enough that he could actually develop into a life-threatening COVID case, a case that actually requires hospitalization and intubation. It’s just that right now is way premature to think that at all likely. He didn’t really need oxygen, that is tolerably clear. The great majority of people, even people his age, who test positive just need to isolate at home
The most likely, most serious difficulty over the next week or so will be for Trump’s handlers over his behavior, not for Trump’s medical condition. How the hell are they going to keep him in any sort of isolation for ten whole days? Maybe they will be able to convince him that staying isolated is the smart political move, since polling over the debate performance wasn’t too hot, and isolation is way the best excuse to not participate in another debate. If the next debate is too far out for ten days to cover it, they will still be able to fob off a debate no-show on “doctor’s orders”. Maybe they can convince him that prolonged isolation increases the sympathy factor, or, if not sympathy per se, at least gets him more attention. It will be like the Truman Show, only the Trump Show will involve daily, or even more frequent, little podcast chats from WRAMC. He could arrange little dramas for the camera, in which he gets to say, “You’re fired!” to this or that doctor, nurse, or support staff. Great fun.
The fact that they started dexamethasone tells me things are not going quite as smoothly as portrayed.
We are all so sorry the world is so cruel. People die in anonymity every day. It is sad. It is called “Life”
This guy needs to grow up. He is mad that the president said hello to his supporters. What a sorry snivelling loser. Does he expect the entire world to come to a screeching halt because his dad died? How many parties do you think he was attending at the same time that other people died in hospitals, eh? What a sorry stupid ignorant loser he is
