Official Coronavirus Thread - The Next Airborne Misery - Open General ☣

There’s a lot of truth in that but in all fairness while the mainstream media is not beating this to death or inciting panic they are starting to at least give it some fair coverage.

No, that’s not what the study is showing. It just showed an unusually high level in one Asian male.

It’s definitely affecting people of all races around the globe right now. It hasn’t yet been around long enough to develop any really decent data on.

I am starting to develop some real concerns here.

Corona Viruses in Cat’s and dogs rarely themselves kill but they do severely weaken the immune systems so other diseases like Parvo swoop in a couple of weeks later hitting so hard and fast that survival rates are incredibly low compared to parvo infections in otherwise healthy animals that did not have a previous CV infection prior.

We lose about 85,000 people annually to the flu each year, mostly the very old and very young who have weakened immune systems.

If the flu can then piggyback following up a bout with the Wuhan CV we could see some pretty serious problems popping up.

Fortunately spring is coming and the normal flu season coming to an end with it’s arrival the next flu season will only be eight months away.

If we don’t get a handle on this outbreak before then, things could get ugly.

Would you please post your source?

It’s in the blue “LEAKED” link in his post. Looks like university access is needed.

It’s not showing up highlighted or in blue text for some reason.

Understood. I used that story to show my assumption that hospitals and the medical profession is on high alert. They wont allow her to leave the hospital until she is rid of the virus. My theory is because of the Wuhan virus.

Of course, I could be wrong and this could just be S.O.P.

No I think they are taking it seriously. I caught part of a bit on Fox earlier showing where the CDC has opened quarantine and screening facilities at all of the CONUS airports where Chinese planes are landing.

The DOS charger from Wu Han was also diverted from Orange County/JW to I believe a military base indicating real concern.

Kind of puts those know it all smart asses at the other place who were deriding me as some kind of an alarmist panic monger for suggesting this could get serious in a hurry in their place claiming this is all 90% panic and 10% genuine concern on our part for even discussing it.

Looks like the Chinese living amongst us in the West are starting to get a wee bit nervous from all of this. They might want to re-think their eating and hygiene habits.

UK government announces compulsory quarantine for people arriving from Wuhan.

Passengers arriving at Heathrow from Wuhan are now subject to a 14 day quarantine. Where that will take place is unclear, it is now reported all over UK MSM television.

Arguably very valid concerns. The next 3 weeks will show whether or not the virus is as terrifying as some believe. If it is we will see a death-toll increasing markedly.

Just saw an announcement stating that British Airways has just suspended all flights to/from China. Would not be at all surprised to see more following soon.

If it continues spreading in India and China that will be the two most heavily populated countries on earth both having serious outbreaks at the same time. I can’t think of a time in modern history we’ve had something similar, at least not since the 1918 pandemic.

I could be wrong but I don’t even think the 20th century polio outbreaks got that bad.

Too little too late…but at least the UK is doing more than the US.

Is there a corresponding flu season in Australia, but shifted by 6 months?

I suggested a 14 day quarantine for all people returning from China and cutting off all business/tourist travel completely barring anyone entry other than citizens and “legal residents” about a week or so back and was called crazy and a whole lot worse for doing so.

To me particularly with really knowing much about this disease it just seems prudent.

This is true. Was announced around 7am GMT

China now admits to 6000 cases of the virus (per Fox News Broadcast)

Edit:
China’s health officials say the number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus has risen to 5,974 in 31 provinces with 132 deaths. People are asking why it took so long for controls to be implemented.

Unfortunately knowing the Chinese you can probably multply that by at least 5-10 before getting close to the truth.

LOL! Imagine building a hospital on a marsh bed next to a swampy river. Chinamen have literally no wherewithal. The foundation will settle in days. Cracks will start to form in weeks. In a month, doors and windows won’t open or close properly. And that’s not to mention the perpetual moisture that’ll attract bugs and harbor fungi and bacteria.

Jesus - they are really this dumb.
