Italy Says App Tracing Contacts of People Infected With COVID-19 Will Be Anonymous
ROME — The Italian government has decreed that the data provided through an app to facilitate tracing of persons who come in close contact with someone positive for COVID-19 will be completely anonymous and that all data will be destroyed by year’s end.
Premier Giuseppe Conte’s Cabinet, at a meeting that ended early Thursday, approved a law, in the form of the decree, that guarantees that those who decide not to use the app won’t suffer limits on their movement or other rights.
Health authorities are encouraging Italians to use the app as a key tool to prevent the rate of contagion to rise again in Italy. The app, which uses Bluetooth, won’t geo-localize users, and data will only be mined for purposes of containing the virus or for epidemiological study, the government said Thursday.
The Cabinet also stipulated that any bid to release to house arrest prison inmates convicted of terrorism or Mafia crimes due to COVID-19 concerns must seek the opinion of prosecutors, or in the case of top organized crime bosses must run the request by Italy’s national anti-Mafia prosecutor. Prosecutors have expressed concern mobsters can exploit the pandemic to get out of prison.
How does that work if it’s anonymous?

I guess that’s what it’s all about. Big pharma comes up with some miraculous vaccine or cure, and it will be mandatory in all countries to submit to the process of administering it every winter (just like the long-established jabs for seasonal flu are now), and at a cost to the individual every year for the rest of their lives? So we’re talking of the world population of billions, and that will be very lucrative for the global pharma companies.
I personally haven’t heard of even one case of CV infection, never mind the illness itself; but then there could be many like me who had it, but a) thought it was flu (the symptoms are the same, or asymtomatic), and b) recovered so quickly it wasn’t even worth reporting to my GP. What I do know is that the longer this goes on under the various guises, lies and hype, lot of people are making lots of money.

Fauci is actually a good guy, he’s just being a typically trained Md Research oriented Epidemiologist.
There’s no evidence to suggest he’s in anybody’s pocket.
With my interest and training in both epidemiology and immunology I’ve followed him since reading one of his grad school papers when I was doing some graduate work in epidemiology.
If there was any evidence he’s a bad guy I would have come across it long ago.
You just have to understand the perspective he comes from, he’s not a man of the world he has an extremely limited, very narrow view of it and it’s perfectly in keeping with traditional MD/Research training.
He’s always “right” from the perspective of his field even if he has no clue about the rest of the world.
Actually we invested in it for our own US/Western interests since so many pandemics emerge from China.
They are supposed to be our early warning system. In this case they used it against us.
You must be out of your mind.
He might have been at one time, but now there’s a bandwagon to climb onto he might have changed. Every man has his price?
Then provide the evidence showing he has.
I’ve been following his work for over 20 years, he’s a solid Academician, Doc, and Researcher. There’s never been a hint of scandal in anything he has done either publicly or privately.
Every recommendation he’s made is perfectly in line with his education, training, and the position he holds.
He knows nothing of the larger world beyond what he does as is the case with most true experts.
I was making a general point that with various enticements anyone can be persuaded to reverse their stance.
Money will do that.
