I’m with you @TWR the fact it took them 40 years to finally decide it was a pure coincidental accident means nothing. Next these haters will be bringing up the Israeli pilots who refused to attack the Liberty because it was an American ship that were sent to prison. This hate has to stop!

All kidding aside, the uncontrollable kvetching and screaming of ANTISEMITE every time the USS Liberty is brought up is a powerful piece of evidence that points to that it was in fact NOT an accident. They know it wasn’t an accident and they want to not be found out, so they scream and holler in hopes of shouting down anyone who brings up the pain these sailors and their families have suffered.

Nobody is or ever has dismissed the pain suffered by the casualties and their families.
We screwed up, they screwed up and our sailors paid the price for it.
No, the US was attacked by Israel. The attack on the USS Liberty was a sustained attack which included strafing runs on the ship. The intention was not just to force the ship out of the theater but to sink the ship and kill all the survivors. During the attack the ship’s crew were in constant communication advising Israel that the ship was American and considered friendly. Israel knew the ship was spy ship and sought to sink it so whatever evidence it had acquired would sink with it. What we don’t know is what Israel was trying to hide. People speculate that Israel was preparing to use nuclear weapons and didn’t want the US to interfere. There is also evidence to suggest that Israel wanted to strike Syria and did not want the plans known.

Pure BS, they had no communications with the Israelis. Five of their six ship to shore transmitters were down as a result of the first attack and they could barely get a message out to the sixth fleet.

Of course the American crew wouldn’t understand Hebrew, but Israel feared the ship had recorded the conversation. So the ship along with everyone had to sink, and blame it on Egypt. (Typical false flag, which failed to work out.)
