If, in response, a moderator says “duh…how u gonna ban da one an’ not da odda” when we have tools of terrorist organizations propagandizing here on this forum, I think we see what the truth is. This site was set up for these people to propagandize their lies. And I am ashamed that I fell for the ploy.

What’s really unfortunate is all of the months of negative commentary about this site and it’s members, which has taken place in multiple Fireside Chat threads. I’ve read every single one.
What I thought was most interesting was when the Fireside Chat group conspired to withhold donations in order to get me to ban who they wanted. Since that conversation, I have been skeptical of the agenda of this group here…thus, I have been resistant to cave to your well organized demands. Had it not been for this actual conspiracy taking place behind the scenes, I might have been more apt to respond positively to the requests of this group. Instead, I have kept you all at arms length regardless of the reasonableness of your requests.
Further, the fireside chat group has been most likely to post personal attacks on others then flag when people have had enough. It’s behavior I usually see from leftists. Sad.
Finally, this group has been given every opportunity to form private groups, invisible groups, etc. If that’s not good enough, despite all the negativity that all of you have brought to the board behind the scenes, I am not sure there is much more I can do.

Go read the post I just made there. It says that the type of posts these people make is the equivalent of yelling fire in the crowded theater.
And BTW… You know that fireside chat is not a homogeneous group… you will find people agreeing with your style of moderating just as much as you will find those disagreeing.
So let’s be clear, you monitor private chats and oppose people who discuss ways to bring about peaceful change?
There’s something very wrong with that logic and it’s entirely in conflict with what you claim to support here.
I suggest some more thought on the matter.

I have to monitor private discussions to ensure that people aren’t sharing things like child porn, terrorist materials, pirated material, or conspiring to overthow governments by force. It’s just a form of basic legal compliance. I’m not dealing with the headache of getting servers seized or anything like that.
Which is why the allegations that your group is making are utter nonsense. There isn’t any speech here that is in violation of the law. As long as speech doesn’t violate the law then it will stand, no matter how much you dislike it.
You aren’t required to do any such thing by US law and since when did you become a moderator here?
You’re incorrect about that. What was asked for, at least by me, was a stop to hiding behind Freedom of Speech as a means to spread misinformation that has been debunked time and time again, trolling and derailment of threads with it.

That’s absolutely not correct.
Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act does remove liability for comments made by users, but there still must be due diligence in terms of contents that are uploaded and shared. After over 20 years of doing this I’m quite familiar with the headaches and pit falls of running forums.
Regardless, it’s my property and I will administer it to ensure that I am not in violation of any law or regulation while keeping with the spirit of free speech and expression.
It’s been that way since day one and it’s been that way on any and every forum that I have ever managed.
Not just you. I have quietly been asking for the same.
Giving hate and lies a home in the name of free speech is problematic for me.
Defamation, lies, and outright hate have been limited even in the freest societies that have ever existed in human history.
When the clear intent is to promote defamation and violence against innocents there is a clear line being crossed.
