How to take on Iran

Hmmm. That is debatable. In some ways, yes they have. But have they ever contributed troops to any wars? Nope, except recently, in numbers so small as to be totally meaningless.

Economically Japan has been as much a nemesis as a friend over the decades, and Angela Merkel is an arse.

Now, if a few Jap and German warships pop up in the Gulf, I would be pleasantly surprised.

From Wikipedia:

Currently there are about 65 commissioned ships in the German Navy, including; 10 frigates, 5 corvettes, 3 minesweepers, 10 minehunters, 6 submarines, 11 replenishment ships and 20 miscellaneous auxiliary vessels in the German Navy.

As of 2014, the Japanese Navy operates a total of 124 ships (excluding minor auxiliary vessels), including; four helicopter carriers ( called helicopter destroyers ), 26 destroyers, 10 small destroyers ( or frigates ), six destroyer escorts ( or corvettes ), 18 attack submarines, 29 mine countermeasure vessels, six patrol vessels, three landing ship tanks, eight training vessels and a fleet of various auxiliary ships

We never asked them to contribute any troops until the GWI and they did.

The US was attacked an they invoked their own responsibilities under the NATO Charter and sent aid following 9-11.

Sure they could have done more but they met their obligations and of course had their own problems due to Putin’s actions in Eastern Europe.

They did their part, be fair.

I still don’t like Merkel

Neither do I. Doesn’t change the fact though that they are our allies and have kept their commitments.

I have family members I don’t like much either but they are still family.

Bring out the subs, minesweepers and destroyers. :grinning:

That’s exactly why the “mine” attack was staged

When specifically speaking of China, the advantage and strategy is not necessarily a military one but an economic one!

Genocidal Billboard Spotted in Tehran

The Kaffiyeh as the sea is a nice touch, don’t you think? As is the Hebrew, clearly designed to send a message to Israelis (spoiler alert: that message is not “We desire peace with you”).

That is precious! For someone who hates ■■■■ here you are quoting one! The irony is funny! Thanks for the laughs!

Quite a few of their limited resources are tied up battling the Somali Pirates and largely to our benefit since so much of our trade passes through that region.

I agree though, if the German’s want proof , bring the assets in and see for themselves.

So on November 29, 2011, the game show host Donald Trump tweeted that he thought then president Barack Obama was going to start a war with Iran to win reelection.

The irony of this aside.

Just… put that aside for a minute. Or forever. Because really, it just is what it is.

The more interesting thing about this tweet is that it shows that Donald Trump believes that starting a war with Iran is a plausible strategy for an American president to win reelection.

Will that work for him?

I don’t really have a good guess on that. And I don’t make predictions.

What I will say is that at this point, it couldn’t possibly hurt. Assuming Joe Biden doesn’t make a serious gaffe, he’s really got his work cut out for him. And starting a war is much easier than doing actual work - like, say, stopping the invasion, or at least maybe shutting down the tranny wellness centers for tranny immigrants.

So this whole false flag march to war definitely goes way beyond just shilling for ■■■■■ It is a personal interest issue.

If you’re in Trump’s shoes, and you don’t really give a fuck about anything other than yourself, you’ve got a lot of reasons to start this war.

The only people trying to start a war are the Iranians along with their cohorts the Russians and Assad.

It’s going to take another 9/11 to mobilize the population for against war a capable enemy. They couldn’t even get public support for large interventions following the Arab Spring and those would have been simple endeavors compared to a victory and long-term occupation of Iran. I don’t think that people give a shit about this anymore and many probably think it’s fake.

Whole lotta truth there. In 2011 we were a very war weary country and in 2020 we’ll be more divided as a nation than at any time since the US Civil War.

The easier our lives are as Americans the more we are at each other’s throats tearing the country apart from within.

Common Cause/Common Enemies are about all that can put such a nation back together.
