Climate change strikes again

The largest glacier in the northern hemisphere is growing at the fastest rate ever recorded currently.

Ice Age (glacial) is coming.
Not mini Ice Age.

Liberals love global warming (hoax)

Weā€™re about halfway through what should be a continuous warming cycle. Maybe a mini will interrupt it but barring something catastrophic event like a major meteor or comet strike an Ice Age isnā€™t likely for about another 10,000-20,000 years.

You are very optimistic.
The Hollocene (the relatively warm interglacial which started about 13,000 years ago) has ended.
The last Mini Ice Age was a few hundred years ago when the Thames froze, for example. There were famines in Asia as well.
There will be full blown Ice Age glacial within a few decades. Brrrr
Thatā€™s whey ā€œtheyā€ are eager to reduce world population.
Have you heard of the Georgia Guidestones. Iā€™m sure you have

I have. The Holocene hasnā€™t even peaked. If it had weā€™d already be seeing a cooling trend.

There is no peak in the Hollocene.
Itā€™s downhill from the get-go

Ice Age interglacials (Hollocene is just one of them) last only 1,3000 years. Itā€™s a matter of geological record.

When did Hollocene start?
1,3000 years ago. Go figure.

Iā€™d rather go with actual facts.

Every glacial period has a peak, every interglacial period has a peak. The span between peaks tends to average around 40,000 years.

No one knows for sure. In the Devils Hole, Nevada, paleoclimate record, the last four interglacials lasted over ~20,000 years with the warmest portion being a relatively stable period of 10,000 to 15,000 years duration. This is consistent with what is seen in the Vostok ice core from Antarctica and several records of sea level high stands. These data suggest that an equally long duration should be inferred for the current interglacial period as well. Work in progress on Devils Hole data for the period 60,000 to 5,000 years ago indicates that current interglacial temperature conditions may have already persisted for 17,000 years. Other workers have suggested that the current interglacial might last tens of thousands of years.

Although most interglacials typically last about 10,000 to 30,000 years, the researchers suggest that the current epochā€”the Holoceneā€”may last much longer because of the increased levels of atmospheric greenhouse gases resulting from human activity. The authors predict that this current interglacial period wonā€™t give way to a glacial period for another 50,000 years or so. The only way the current interglacial could end earlier is if CO2 levels were reduced to well below preindustrial levels. ( Reviews of Geophysics, doi:10.1002/2015RG000482, 2015)

The US government wants you to know the truth?

The data from the South Pole donā€™t lie

The Data from the S. Pole is provided by the govā€™t.

Antarctica cannot tell you anything about the entire world.

Over the last two million years, interglacial periods have lasted 10-20,000 years. And when the ice man comes, he comes quickly ā€¦ 100 years or so ā€¦ sometimes in as few as 10.

We are 12-13000 years into this interglacial period ā€¦ statistically, the next one could theoretically begin as soon as 2030.

The Holocene peaked 4-5000 years ago (referred to as the Holocene Optimum.) The long term temperature trend has been negative since then.

13,000

And it has not been downhill from the get go. The get go, was the end of the last ice age.

The peak was 4-7000 years ago ā€¦ the so called Holocene Optimum.

Not according to the sources I linked to.

In truth dating the geological and climatological records appears to be rather open to interpretation even among credible sources.

Saying ā€œCO2 causes global warmingā€ is like saying ā€œLung cancer causes smoking.ā€
Late Dr Bob Carter, James Cook University

Rose, you have posted the graphs yourself. The clearest one is that which shows the temperature over the last 600,000 tears.

Indeed I have and Iā€™ve found other pretty credible sources recently that argue whether or not weā€™ve seen the peak of the Holocene and itā€™s overall likely duration.

Iā€™m a scientist by education that means keeping my mind open and examining new findings and when they differ with what is previously known Iā€™m more than willing to alter my own positions.

The cycles tend to run about 40,000 years or so.

The last ice age peaked about 13,000 years ago.

It follows then that the peak of this cycle should be approximately 20,000 years after the last ice age peaked and we began the current warming trend.

That puts us probably at least 7,000 years from the peak of the current cycle.

Admittedly I have realigned my thinking on the subject.

Well, since the Holocene is not over yet, I agree that we do not know if it has peaked. But the fact remains, the slope of long term trend since the end of the Optimum some 4000 years ago, has been negative.

How Odd. The link names the year as 2020 but the article itself names the year as between 2030-2040.

Whatā€™s odd is how liberals go from global warming to climate change and every weather event is another warning and we need to waste $97,000,000,000,000 .
Climate change is the new name used by liberals for their global warming hoax, which they coined as it became obvious that there is no crisis in global warming. The modification in terminology is identical to what liberals did in redefining ā€œevolutionā€ to be ā€œchange over time,ā€ which of course is a meaningless expression just as ā€œclimate changeā€ is. Numerous past predictions of climatic catastrophes have failed to hold up.[1]

Climate change does occur naturally, which scientists say has occurred in repeated cycles of cooling (see Ice Ages) and warming over millions of years. Yet many writers have been urging America to fund an ill-conceived initiative to ā€œstop global warmingā€ as if warmer nights or winters would make human life more difficult. The term ā€œclimate changeā€ has largely replaced the term ā€œglobal warmingā€, in ideological discussions.

Ideologues insist that the worldā€™s top scientists have reached a ā€œconsensusā€ that most of the warming which land-based weather stations have recorded in the last century is due to human activity. The basis for this claim is a set of reports published by the IPCC, an agency of the United Nations. The assumption is that the government-appointed representatives who run the IPCC would be completely objective and neutral, and would place finding and revealing the truth ahead of any nationalistic interests.
