Climate change strikes again

“Climate change” will allow them to swing both ways when they need to.

Yup, the climate has changed naturally since the beginning of time and will continue to do so.

Go one step further and assume warming of the planet is caused by people.

Why is it the leftists are not addressing the root cause of warming, people??

The number of people.

Why don’t they want to limit the number of people in the US like ending immigration so we produce less pollution? Why aren’t they pressing the populate countries to address their population growth?

Anything less is just a band aid on an arterial wound and the inevitable end of humankind.

From snowflakes to the party of Forest Gump , liberals are here for the laughs .

Late Professor Bob Carter (geology) also said that science has nothing to do with consensus.

Besides, so-called scientists who make up the “consensus” for “global warming” are not scientists at all. They are paid government and UN employees who know which side of the bread is buttered on.

Ice Age interglacials last only about 13,000 years and the current interglacial (called Holocene) started 13,000 years ago, which means Time is up!

What are the characteristics of cold Ice Age glacials (actually, it’s about 5 degrees Centigrade or 10 F colder on the average)?

Strong westerly winds — Happening
Droughts in large continents — Happening
Frequent volcanic activities — Happening
Frequent major earthquake — Happening

Hololcene has the characteristic of a slight temperature rise every 1,000 years.
2,000 years ago, Romans settled in Britain and cultivated grapes for wine
1,000 years ago, Vikings settled in Greenland (This island became warm and was actually green) and lived there for centuries doing agriculture
In 1990s, there was a very slight temperature rise, but it ended very fast and the planet has been steadily cooling since 1996

Coke has a specific use in iron smelting.
Blast furnaces run on it.

News flash for the climate Nazis, the climate hasn’t been steady since it first began to cool 4.5 billion years ago.

Coke is only one form of coal that is used in power generation.

As of 2017 there were almost 9,000 power plants operating in the US with just over half of them using coal.

Strictly speaking coke is not a naturally occurring form of coal. Coke is made by super-heating coal to drive out everything that isn’t pure carbon (some rock impurities cannot be driven-out). This is the historical source of piped gas which was used to light the streets and fuel various domestic heating systems a hundred or more years ago. Said gas has a very high carbon monoxide content which is why it was so dangerous.

Apologies if you knew that already.

Yes, I mentioned it above. I used to live near the largest coke plant in Texas so I’ve known about it since the 70’s.

It’s also used in some rather interesting dual fuel plants that burn a combination of water, coke, and natural gas, or at least it was in some experimental plants. Not sure how far they got with that tech but they were able to generate something like 30% more heat than traditional single fuel plants were able to produce and by filtering the soot and recycling the water they were incredibly clean burning as well.

Here you go. I know when the post count gets over a hundred sometimes it’s hard to keep up.

Oh yes, I remember reading that now.

I did skip about 40 posts after thereabouts… :hushed:

I try to never read a whole thread before responding so my responses are not influenced by any that precede them before posting the first time. I do however try to read all of the posts eventually unless it’s a really long thread I’m jumping into late.

Petroleum coke is a byproduct of the oil refinery industry . Petroleum coke refers to all types of carbonaceous solids obtained in petroleum processing, which includes green or raw, calcined and needle petroleum coke . Petroleum coke is used in many applications, including electrodes and anodes.

Green movements are psyops

Ah, Ok. I was not aware that the refining industry had that kind of residue.

The anodes in a zinc-carbon battery look perfectly formed…

Weather and climate are not the only two things she does not know the difference between. She also does not know the difference between her burro and her burrow.
