Who would win in a war? California or Texas?

No problem. If California wants to leave all they need to do is t:

  1. Pay for all the Federal infrastructure.
  2. Pay for all the Federal Lands.
  3. Figure out how to recall all native born Californians that have located to other states.
  4. Negotiate SS funds.
  5. Pay all Medicaid/ACA subsidies.
  6. etc.

Easy as eatin pancakes.

Same for California leaving the union. They’re well along to spreading the political cancer to all nearby states.

Splitting the state into three was an interesting idea, with the certain result: they’d get three sure liberal states instead of one. The thing holding it back is that the powers that be don’t want their power diluted.

Can you cite the section of our constitution that specifically grants such power to the Fed’s?

The simpler solution is to cut them off from all federal entitlement programs.

There should be no federal lands other than a few parks so let them keep it.

Why? I wasn’t challenging that. I made a sarcastic remark about Lincoln not getting the memo. Did you not get it?

…but then they’d have six Senators instead of two.

I’d say send them away with their share of the debt. The land in California belongs to California, not the Feds IMO so they can have it.

As of 2013 over 45% of the state was under federal management of some sort… of course a large amount of that now needs to be replanted…

While you are right that cutting off federal monies would indeed starve the beast, thus far only the wealthy have exited the state looking for friendlier grounds… cut off federal benefits and the state would drain line a broken dam…

Four of which would be coming from conservative states.

Remember, outside of LA and SF most of the state is pretty conservative.

Who said everyone would be welcome if they left? The diehard lefties would certainly want to remain and build their liberaliandia from the ground up.

Not exactly how it came across.

Well you speak of the dedicated… those who wish to assume a place at the top table… those that seek the ‘benefits’ of a socialist Utopia will see the futility and flee… and who will bill the wall to stop them?

Inferences differ…especially in reading rather than hearing a statement.

Doubtful, they are the “true believers”.

As for who gets in, that’s why we have immigration laws, border enforcement, and ICE.

I can see this country easily breaking up eventually into three different nations.

A central conservative republic and two leftwing democracies on the coasts.

Try harder to be clear.

Try harder to understand the difference between implying and inferring. Look them both up in a real dictionary.

Yeah, try harder to be clear, what’s the matter with you anyway???

Try being clearer. Humor, particularly sarcasm doesn’t always come across well in print.

That has already been stipulated. Some catch it…some don’t. Hence, inferences differ.
