They are holes that are as I stated and as the report stated which are perfectly consistent with the bowtie and cube fragments known to be used with that specific type of warhead.
The signature is very specific and only the 1-2 series missile which is used exclusively by the Russians has them.
Of course neither the locals fighting for independence or the Russians who support them had a thing to gain by shooting down a Malaysian civilian airliner. Ukraine however and their supporters had everything to gain if it could be blamed on either.
Only the Russians had this particular missile and the launcher was traced to and from the parking lot at the motor pool on the Russian Military base.
