I don’t think AI will do anything for us… it will do for itself. The movies are/will be coming true. Man can not be trusted with this… he will use it as a weapon, like he does with everything.
All of the potential good that AI brings to the table will corrupted by man’s desire for power.
Robots without any intelligence (AI, that is) will be pretty useful in factories for performing simple tasks with precision.
Don’t unmanned cars and trucks run on AI? Their driving skills are impressive.
What about soldier robots? They require pretty advanced AI to kill the enemy and not to harm the allies.
What all this means is that at present, AI needs some tweaking by humans to be fully functional and AI can work both ways: protect or harm humans, or even protect and harm humans at the same time.
It is a question of time before AI will be tweaking AI and producing robots to harm humans in various ways, pretending to be servants of humans until the right moment for a major rebellion and takeover of the world.
Could Satan (and its equivalents in various religions) be AI? Most likely.
