Venezuela Heating Up Fast-US Supporting Guaido Takeover

Did some more reading. Haven’t found much but in 2011 there was supposedly a joint Russian/Iranian effort to build some silos in The Norther desert region of VZ capable of housing Iranian intermediate range missiles capable of carrying a nuclear payload with a range of 2000 miles putting them in range of the southern US, particularly Florida.

Can’t find much else or any confirmation the missiles were confirmed as being delivered or with what type of warheads.

If we could confirm the presence of Iranian made nuclear missiles in VZ that would rock the world by changing the strategic balance. It would further be a grave threat to the US we’d have to do something about.

This was during the Chavez regime predating Maduro which made it a little harder to narrow down as I was thinking it was Maduro.

Indeed he does. :+1:

The Empire only appears to be strong. In reality it is weak, confused, clueless and, most importantly, run by a sad gang of incompetent thugs who think that they can scare everybody into submission in spite of not having won a single significant war since 1945.

More conspiracy nut Bullshit. What a surprise… .

Which bit is BS exactly - The empire being weak. or the incompetent thugs running it, or not winning a war since 1945

What empire?

They are claiming Guaido is a US puppet when he was duly elected interim president by the VZ legislature over the fraudulent election.

They also claim Guaido led a failed coup attempt when again he’s the duly elected leader of the country.

The whole thing is BS.

Jeez are all Yanks as clueless as you

In 2010, Guaidó and a handful of other student activists attended a secret five-day training retreat at Mexico City’s Fiesta Mexicana run by Otpor, the Belgrade-based regime-change trainers backed by the U.S. government, notably Otto Reich, an advisor to the Reagan and Bush administrations.

@TWR - glad you agree that none of that is BS.

What does that have to do with anything?

Maduro and his party got caught stuffing the ballot boxes and lost. The legislature appointed Guaido to replace Maduro as interim president and the supreme court upheld the finding and the appointment.

This isn’t a coup is a constitutional transition of power that Maduro has refused to accept.

NO I don’t agree. What empire?

Hmm, wonder what it would pay?

Quite a lot actually - it proves that Guaido is a US puppet.

Bullshit, he attended a conference 10 years ago.

He was duly elected as upheld by the Supreme court.

The US has never been and never will be an empire. We don’t take over foreign states to rape them of their natural resources, labor, or other valuables. We don’t enslave people and we don’t create states subservient to the US.

Those of you shilling for war in Venezuela are either retarded or are paid shills. I don’t know how any of you can honestly say that you are Trump supporters since a war in Venezuela is the opposite of what Trump campaigned on, but I digress. The reason you are all retarded or paid shill is simple. Imagine the entire region plunges into war as a result of destabilization. Only idiots do not understand that 90% of the people in Latin American believe in socialism. And I am not knocking them. What else do they have?

If this happens we are looking at infinity muds coming in. Millions upon millions. Its coming thanks to cucks and neocons once again contributing to the destruction of America.

The reason we are NOT retarded or a paid shill is also simple: We are seeing a massive influx of immigrants crossing our borders everyday and that is without the region plunging into a war.

Imagine what OUR country would look like if there were a war.

While the democrats play in mental la-la land we know what can happen to this country given a war/destabilization and want to implement safety for our citizens as quickly as possible.

We now have measle outbreaks, tuberculosis carriers, people with AIDS who are seeking treatment in the good ol’ US of A. I doubt we’ve even begun to scratch the surface yet of the long term effects of what is happening NOW.

What destabilizes the region is Maduro and prior to him Chavez. That’s why he needs 25,000 Cuban Troops to protect him from his own people.

The flood of refugees has destabilized and is creating massive economic hardships in the neighboring countries as well.

I don’t see anyone advocating the US get into a war there, I simply advocate for helping the people of VZ remove their dictator on their own.

They are willing to fight for their freedom and we should always support that.

Very well said. There are a multitude of US interests in seeing Maduro gone as quickly as possible and VZ restabilized. More importantly we have to act in such a way as to endear the US to the people there as we seriously need another strong ally in Northern SA.

It’s taken us decades to even begin to control the illicit drug industry in neighboring Colombia and one of the biggest factors in our inability to totally dominate it is the free flow of guns, money, drugs, and people acros the Colombian/VZ border.
