UK/US now shitholes but why?

You make absolutely no sense at all.

We did eradicate the VC. They were completely destroyed as a fighting force during the Tet offensive and never played a role in the war again.

If our goal had been to see VN united under communist rule we’d have never gone in to begin with.

You can rephrase the whole sentence:
If the US goal had been to see Afghanistan under Muslim rule, the US would never have gone in to begin with.

But the truth turned out to be otherwise.

There was never any intent to free Afghanistan from Muslim Rule. It would be impossible to do so in a country where 95% Of the population is Islamic.

You made a completely ridiculous claim about Vietnam, I called you on it and now you’re deflecting.

Another reason asserted at the time was to improve the lot of Afghan women, and girls’ education; another one was to destroy the poppy fields; another one was to build a dam; another one was to improve the country’s infrastructure. Looks like you couldn’t make up your mind? FFS watch Bitter Lake and find out how naive/ignorant you are on this subject? You’re probably as naive/ignorant on this as you are on the Vietnam war.

You’re just making things up. The request for an authorization for the use of military force in Afghanistan was perfectly clear.

All of those other issues came along later.

Clear as mud isn’t it especially with the agendas of people here.

It is! In these days of routine fake news, outright lies, and alternative facts, I wonder that anyone who is past adolescence believes anything.

It’s really hard to tell who’s telling the truth and who’s lying this day and age.

But one thing is for sure. You can’t trust the mass media.
ABC, BBC, CNN, etc.

So the rule of thumb is, whose stories are in line with these fake news peddlers?

Takes time and energy to read multiple sources to ascertain the truth.

Most people follow the sites that are likely to say what they want to hear. That is what they believe.

As they say, the truth is out there.

People are lazy and opinionated. To get the real story, takes time and patience.

Sort of like what I posted a few days ago - that someone is far more likely to believe a lie, not matter how ridiculous it is, if they want to believe it.

At one time you could have a rational conversation with others even if they were from a different party, point of view. Today’s hyper partisanship has all but destroyed any civil conversation.

As example is the peaceful transfer of power from one administration to another. The dems all but destroyed that in 2016 which will result in the sam treatment when they take the WH some day.

It’s exactly the same with the party that represents the loony left here in the UK (Labour). It has become dysfunctional, disorganised, and is at the point of implosion, especially if they choose one of the females in the running for leader - not that the males are much better, but they’re not quite so barmy.

Another rule of thumb is, who will never change his or her opinion. (Everyone makes mistakes or gets fooled.)

In other words, who is open to new info and truth that he or she didn’t have access to.

Done . . . for all the good it’ll do? It goes right to the top and this petition won’t materialise.

It hit 100 k overnight so they have to debate it now - fingers crossed.

So why are we shitholes
Maybe this explains some of the background - same playbook?

*** The ■■■■■■ role in South Africa is notable, and contains a chilling lesson for the societies of the West where the liberal/■■■■■■ establishment is promoting immigration and exalting the multicult.** During the apartheid era, South Africa was wealthy and flourishing — unlike black Africa, which was backward and poor — and as a result, blacks poured into South Africa seeking economic opportunity (so much for the ‘horrors’ of apartheid). But, with the success of ‘civil rights’ in America, liberals and their ■■■■■■ masters took up the anti-apartheid ‘cause’, the major effect of which was — by means of boycotts and other forms of economic pressure — to cause a near-collapse of the South African economy (so much for the principle of self-determination), and was the major reason why South African whites committed cultural suicide at the ballot box by voting in one-man-one-vote ‘democracy’. But it was not just the effects of a ■■■■■■■ dominated liberal crusade against apartheid which put South Africa six feet under: The African National Congress, whose political agitation, murder and brutality was a major problem for the white-dominated South African government, was a communist terrorist organization, and the communist party in South Africa was headed by Joe Slovo, an immigrant ■■■ and intimate of communist terrorist Nelson Mandela
