UK/US now shitholes but why?

We withdrew because the electorate no longer supported the war and Nixon ran on the promise of getting us out.

Even with continued US air support the ARVN’s couldn’t hold their own country and we weren’t going to redeploy ground troops to pull their asses out of the fire again.

You withdrew from the Vietnam war because you were losing it. Like I said - stop trying to re-write history.

Nothing known to history supports your bullshit claim and we all know it.

You’re just trolling lies now begging for attention.

‘the electorate no longer supported the war’ because everyone could see it was spiralling downwards into catastrophe. That’s not a lie, it’s the plain truth; the only ones who couldn’t see the writing on the wall was the Pentagon.

More like your trolling trying to pretend history never happened.

No matter how you spin the mission in Vietnam failed.

Give it a few more posts on this and I am sure you will be claiming you served or had a close relationship with the key decision makers.

I don’t know that I would blame intelligence, but an organized army fighting so called terrorists that are disorganized and look like society.

Vietnam was absolutely a waste.

The original concerns that got the US involved in Vietnam to begin with never even materialized.

Can you post even ONE respected source who thinks US won the Vietnam war.
Coz I tried and the overwhelming consensus agrees that America LOST BIG TIME in Nam- Yep you got your ass kicked by a bunch of peasants and it seems that you are the only one who disagrees - go figure!

It is a lie. We won every military engagement of the war.

The problem was that LBJ tried to play general and was afraid to cross the borders into Laos and Cambodia to eliminate the supply depots and supply lines.

The war was dragging on endlessly with no apparent strategy for victor and withdrawal.

The draft became a major point of contention and students started demonstrating and rioting around the country.

The press turned traitorous as well and Walter Cronkite’s lie that we had lost the Tet offensive declaring “The war is lost” pretty well was the beginning of the end.

We didn’t “lose” we turned it over to the ARVN who could not carry on the fight themselves.

You’re too ignorant and uniformed to even know the Viet Cong had been destroyed completely as a fighting force during Tet so don’t begin to lecture me on the subject.

What, you’re saying the US betrayed them and left them to their fate? That sounds like ‘running away’ to me.

There was no betrayal. We came to support and train them and fought most of the war for them while they were supposedly getting their shit together.

We have them the money, the training, and all of the hardware to do the job but they failed to accomplish it.

58,200 Americans died, 303,630 were wounded. We had given more than enough American blood for them.

It was their Country, their war, and they lacked the guts and brains to win it.

Yeah, yeah, blame America’s defeat on LJB and other politicians.

Of course I will. He’s the jackass that got us in there and then played general instead of letting the professionals do what they do best. Worse, he let the other politicians dictate terms as well limiting the ROE so that a final victory was impossible.

Oh just go away and take your bullshit with you - I find it insulting that you expect me to believe your naive drivel.

All documented facts. Get an education you moron.

Only a moron would try and ascertain that Vietnam was some sort of victory for the US.

But please continue to rewrite history to somehow prove to your own fevered mind you are the intellectual powerhouse of this site.

Pathetic.
