Nor do we generally prosecute people for trafficking in stolen information, if we did there would be a lot of journalists sitting in jail. If they want to throw someone in the Trump campaign in jail for seeing or using those stolen emails they are going to have to lock up every journalist who printed or broadcast them as well.

Yes, I doubt the DNC was reaching out to the organization that had possession of their stolen property to ascertain what they had, when they would be releasing it and what else they planned to do. That seems an odd way to treat someone with your stolen goods. that would be like calling the guy who bought your stolen car and asking him if he was planning on taking a drive to teh country this weekend.

So you are all good as long as Trump didn’t specifically direct them to obtain stolen emails but just gave them a general directive to find any dirt they could on her? And how do you know what he was directed to do, did anyone investigate him?
If they were in on it from the beginning why were they trying to find out what was in them long after the fact? And if they wanted to steal them why on earth would they use Russia to get them when any two bit US blackhat hacker could have gotten them just as easily? And why in the world would Trump publicly call on Russia to find them, knowing he had already directed them to steal them and they had succeeded None of that adds up in the slightest.

My argument centers on the double standard. Trump haters conveniently ignore the double standard, looking only to focus on anything that could bring Trump down. I think that is a question for the DOJ. They are Trump appointed people that should be able to bring charges against these people if they can prove the case.
Problem is they’re mostly afraid that next administration will go after them…and thus why corruption doesn’t get prosecuted.
