If Jen wants to take it slow here, as a new sub-mod (sorry that is the best description I could think of), then I think we should respect the cautious approach.
The RH crew has only been “here” for 5 months and are going thru a new paradigm shift.
In the intervening time, I think it prudent to simply be good ambassadors for our, still migrating, group.
Let’s all get to know each other a little on the open forum, friendships will form naturally as they have already started to do.

I am far less fearful of the average man (you think all those cops are geniuses?) in possession and use of arms, than I am of supposedly brilliant Godless, Communists in charge of the Government.
I recently had a city dweller friend and his family visit the ranch. He said that he wished that he had brought one of his firearms to shoot. I asked him what did he want to shoot?
About 20 seconds later his eyes got real big when he figured out what I was offering.
But hell, I’m reasonably lethal out to 50 yards with a longbow.

Constitutional rights are not based on IQ. That may sound foolish to a Brit, but if you start placing qualifications on rights, where does it stop? You guys already arrest people for the things they say because someone was offended by their words, yet those same people can say anything they want about you. Next thing you know, they may be forcing you to pray to Allah.
How can I forget? It’s just common sense and its no wonder why the anti gun lobbyists will stop at nothing to get a national registry as well as a confiscation proposal ready! I suspect this will be Bloomberg’s main platform when he decides to run for President! After all Reagan did say that we are only a generation away from losing our freedoms! A constant vigilance is our only advantage to keeping our rights!

If they take away my firearms, I am already prepared. This season I have 2 deer in the freezer with no modern arms involved, and by two different means.
After that I would be far less civil. Self defense is a Natural Right, anyone not believing that should catch a mouse in their hands.
I do miss the annual hunt as a ritual of rights of passage! My last bag was a 12 pointer 10 years ago! Anyway kudos for being resourceful and prepared!

The interesting thing about the left is they demand gun laws all the way to banning all gun sales and confiscation.
The only thing that would happen is honest people would lose their weapons and the criminal elements would remain well armed.
