The Rabbit Hole

Your posts were weak on details. If you are going to assert an alternate theory that’s fine, but be prepared to do so using a well thought out argument in your own words. Don’t just say it happened the way you said it did and drop a bunch of images and links. I’ve given a lot of leeway on the conspiracy board, but on the main boards you will need to put the work in. I can find sources that say just about anything it’s how I make the case and put the pieces together that matters and results in a quality post.

If you’re trying to lose weight, don’t exercise and diet…! Because you will lose bone density. No one knows why yet. I suspect it would be fine if you were gorging a gargantuan amount each day and dropped your calorie intake to what is considered “normal.” Just don’t starve yourself.

Osteoporosis has nothing to do with the intake of calcium, by the way. Taking calcium would do more harm than good. The best thing for bone density in later life is to lay down a good foundation as a child, by doing a lot of resistance sport. As an adult, it is more important to ensure the calcium goes to the bones and not hang around the soft tissues and joints, where it can cause all sorts of ailments. Vitamins D3 and K2 are invaluable for this. Natto is the food highest in K2. I have never tried it, but I hear it’s a very acquired taste. @Didgevillage?

I read that natto is so disgusting that most Japanese folk don’t even eat it

Gouda cheese is what I eat mostly now for K2, in fact this did come up here some while ago about k2 content of cheese.

When I need to shed a pound or 3 I just run/cycle harder and maybe just once extra in the week.
I have never been on a diet to lose weight. The nearest thing to dieting (20 years ago) was to achieve the opposite to most people and that was to consume extra calories (daily intake between 4 and 5 thousand) to provide enough energy to train in the gym.

Haha I have just noticed your avatar Jen, I couldn’t work out what it was straight away :face_with_monocle::grinning:.

The difference between fat and fit is mindset. The fat ones are always the first to whine and give up. Now we know that that is even more significant than we realised.

Yeah, that’s a good idea.

I have very clear ideas but am afraid to put them in black and white for fear of being shouted down, usually by the same culprits, as “conspiracy theory!” “hate mongering!”

This means loss of time and work. (I don’t mind this kind of work, though)

Human history, world economics, etc., are actually very simple. What’s difficult is to give a concise perspective so that everyone (who has had no idea) can see.

Like someone said, I am too busy to write short letters.

No, no. Most Japanese love it.
I don’t eat it myself because it smells awful.
(I had no problem eating it up to a certain age, but no more)

Also, the people of Okinawa are not familiar with natto.

Thanks for clarifying, when I heard about the K2 benefits of natto a few years ago I tried to find it here in the U.K.
It was not readily available, so I stick with higher k2 content cheeses which I have always enjoyed, particularly with a glass of red wine :relaxed:

There are youtube videos on how to make it yourself. As eating a load of cheese doesn’t really appeal to me, I get K2 mk 7 supplement. Easy. K2 is a major contributing factor to the Japanese’s longevity and low incidences of dementia type diseases and joint problems, which are largely attributable to calcium deposits in the soft tissues.

Now we have a scientific explanation why vegans and libs are so dumb. Choline is a nutrient vital for the brain and primarily found in meat and dairy sources.

Who was first guy who said, Let’s take this thing home and eat it for dinner?

Same question for sea cucumbers

In this thread you only get shouted down when re-repeating the same mantra.

I don’t have a cure-all mantra.
Wish I had one.

I only have truthful statements.

To survive you need either a good ability to store fat or good IQ to be resourceful to find food. In Africa, they have the fat storage capability to see them through famines. In China, with a billion people to feed, I don’t think they starved to death. They ate everything that moved and much that didn’t.

Did you know that MSG raises insulin levels by 300%? I avoid it completely. If I have Chinese food, I cook it myself, never a takeaway or go to a restaurant. I have noticed that a lot of restaurant food in America contain MSG and along with the high salt content, that is why it makes you feel so ill.

In this table, on average BMI across the world, we see that China is 143rd, in other words, the Chinese are not fat. UK is in 40th place and the US is in 17th.

Then take a look at the prevalence of diabetes. The US has 10.79% diabetic between the ages of 20-79. The UK has 4.28%. China has a whopping 9.74%. We are twice as fat as them (more or less!) but they have over twice the diabetes as we do! MSG causes huge surges in insulin which causes insulin resistance leading to diabetes! The Chinese do use a lot of MSG in their cooking; it’s not just in restaurant food here.

Europeans drink a lot and Muslims don’t drink. There is an inverse correlation with drinking and the prevalence of diabetes.

So they say

That’s Sickdick Khan! So if he isn’t a proper Muslim then, he must be an infidel!

Why do Muslims have so much diabetes?

Something else to worry abt
