The Rabbit Hole

OK, what about the ‘ignore’ tool that is supposed to be available.

Then there is the contents of your head. Just because some twat sends you a message doesn’t mean you have to read it…

Does “ignore” stop them sending messages? I thought it was just to blank out their posts when signed in. I could switch off PMs altogether but then no one can message me.

Maybe I should just let them in and bugger off. And whilst I’m at it, I’ll let Samm back and invite TWR too.

I don’t know … but I don’t want to go back to The Tomb, so please don’t let them in.

Then help me on the door. I’m fed up of being trolled every time I venture out of here.

Right, here is my recent assistance…

Possibly that has worked. So please ignore him in the main threads

I hadn’t considered that angle Jen, that you are “on the door”.
Good metaphor and please keep up the good work because I certainly do not wish to have constant barrages from the trolls that infest these types of forum .

In the real world the trolls would be expelled with a toe up their ass by the head doorman.
If only that could happen here

Ross the Toss is easier to ignore. He’s not that bright. The other one is the problem too. This thread has been unlisted by the mods because of their trolling.

I think if you go to your profile and MUTE specific users, you will get no notifications of any sort from them. I have several on my list.

I don’t know that it keeps them from sending private messages to you, but if the touted claim is true, you should get no notification of it. The same applies when they reply to you or mention you with an @Jen .

Just ask @Magog to try to send me a private message. We’ll see what happens!

Occasionally, trolls get tossed from PB. To toss people simply because you do not like what they say is protective censorship…silencing of objectionable voices.

That defeats the purpose of a free speech site. The invitation only groups are safe spaces for people who do not wish to put up with total free speech.

This site should stay as it is.

But there was /is a requirement that we have to make at least 1/3 of our posts in the open forum…?

Just don’t feel compelled to reply. I have had PM’s and replies in threads and just ignored since my last engagement. Sometimes I want to reply with a go forth type comment but I actually think it aggravates them more to know you have seen the message but chosen to totally ignore it. My dog loses interest in the stick if I don’t wave it around.

You just have to develop the skill to skip past entries and replies from the likes of Dr.Manshe and RickTheToss. I successfully did this with Ross back in The Tomb.

BTW Ross was upset that I referred to him as Rick-the-Toss and asked that I not send him any more MPs. That alone identifies him as a fan of 50-cent.

…and I don’t know that anyone is really counting.

My dog is a pain in the arse. He incessantly shoves the ball into your feet. Never gives up.

What wound up Dr Manshe the most was me just appearing on Stu’s thread after a little break. Remember that set off a whole avalanche of abuse. My existence winds him up. I think I might hide out in here for a bit, though often I do see stuff I would like to contribute to.

I saw that. I was actually happy to see you out posting on the main forum.

Just use the ignore feature. Just because they talk to you doesn’t mean you have to read or respond.

Heck I go to Hannity, scroll past all of the liberals, find a conservative and reply. I get like 18 replies from libs piling on (if you think Dr. M and Ross are bad? Try it over there) and I just ignore them. Drives 'em crazy. Nothing worse than being ignored.

I wonder if @Jen could let them know they are not welcome to send private messages and bring the moderators in on it. So that if one is sent they will eat a ban?
