You can probably make a pretty good case that Joe Biden is “stupid” (or foolish, anyway); but it is quite another matter to assert that the American people are, for the most part, “stupid.”
(True, a plurality did vote for him; but for one thing, they had no idea, based upon what he then said, that he would bring us the “stagflation” of the Jimmy Carter years. Moreover, most people’s votes for the man were really not so much pro-Biden votes as they were anti-Trump votes–based upon the latter’s unpleasant personality.)

Yes of course, you seem unaware of president Polk’s provocation to Mexico by building a military garrison in disputed territory that sparked the Mexican/American war, that even congressman Abraham Lincoln declared was nothing more than an illegal land grab. And indeed ended with not just a proportional response, but the annexation of over half of Mexico’s land mass. Of course our schools teach an Americanized version of much of our foreign policy, and of course that’s the history that most Americans know, as most never seek to research things on their own in such regards….
It’s your own prerogative to justify such an abuse of power, an abuse of power that you’d never let Saddam Hussein, Hitler or Putin get away with, but I won’t…

Texas is a bit more nuanced, and gained its independence largely outside of Washingtons interference. The land ceded to the US as a result of the Mexican American war didn’t include Texas, which independently gained its independence in 1836 and became a state in 1845, the Mexican American war beginning a year later. It was New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, parts of Utah, Nevada and California that was ceded to the US………
