Retribution Has Begun: Iran attacks US bases in Iraq

When you think of the 3-5 million or so Japanese and Allied lives he saved by dropping that bomb it’s easy to imagine why he slept so well.

Our invasion fleet would also have suffered massive losses as they had drawn all their remaining aircraft back to defend the homeland.

They also had substantial numbers of jet and rocket powered aircraft indended to be ant ship cruise missiles.

Well they just proved that that’s not true. They fired guided missiles deep into Iraq, and as the White House has noted, they deliberately did not strike US personnel on that base. That took very specific targeting to hit the base, without causing US casualties. It’s consistent with what they said as well, that they would execute a measured response, but would not escalate matters.

Yet there are plenty of craters at an American military base in Iraq right now that says otherwise…but who cares about the facts, right?

In fact, you can go here and see satellite imagery of the damage.

Satellite photographs taken by the commercial company Planet Labs for the Middlebury Institute of International Studies showed what appeared to be at least five destroyed structures at Al Asad. David Schmerler, an analyst at the Middlebury Institute, told NPR : “Some of the locations struck look like the missiles hit dead centre.”

And of course the IRGC has repeatedly declared that the strike was NOT intended to inflict US casualties.

What an incredibly contradictory statement.

This was my mistake.I should have said he kept us out of an all out war by incre3the sanctions.

No, he kept us out of all out war by listening to sound council and allowing Iran the last word. Right after he foolishly risked all out war by killing the second most powerful man in Iran. And now we know, without any evidence that Soleimani had any particular attacks planned.

Soleimani has the blood of many people on his hands. This was a necessary strike to show Iran that we’ve had enough. President Trump has the TESTICLES to make decisions few others would make.
Too bad our PUSSIEFIED allies won’t stand behind us and take action against Iran. They’d rather sit in a room smoking cigars and have academic discussions instead of actually supporting the U.S…

That can be said of many. Good thing Trump’s handlers convinced him to back down leaving Iran with the last word.

There’s NO FUCKING REASON to take action against Iran. It’s action against Iran that is provoking all these reactions. I cannot believe the bull headedness that some few Americans are exhibiting about this.

Its not bulheadedness, its that Iran is destabilizing the ME through its proxies seeking control. Its the Radical Islamic equivalent of Russia’s attempt to spread its its influence during the Cold War.
We should not turn our backs and run or appease them because that never works.
Just like you Monte, that wants the U.S. to stop interfering with other countries, I don’t see you saying anything anout Iran butting out of Yemen etc.
I’m surprised that you haven’t protested in
front of the White House over Iran.

Good gawd the mighty. How in the hell does the US elephant in the room escape you. And btw, what fucking business does the US have interfering in the ME to begin with. And what of a key campaign promise by trump to get us the hell OUT???

Im a fucking American, I was born here, I will die here, I live, work and sleep here, I vote here and I pay taxes here. It’s what MY country does that is my interest and responsibility.

And don’t give me any faux concerns about Yemen. The US is interfering there as well. And congress passed overwhelming bipartisan legislation that would end US interference in Yemen and that fat pig in the White House VETOED IT!!!:rage:

Your partisanship in this is dangerous…

China Slams Washington’s Use of Force, Says Aggravating Middle East Tensions

. “The US’s risky military behavior in recent days goes against the basic norms of international relations.”

It’s not a false concern. You are constantly one sided about Trump and U.S. FP past and present. The U.S. hasn’t been idealistic in its FP and isn’t perfect. You put the U.S. as always the one to blame.
Like you, I’m an American , retired vet and proud to live in the best country in the world and also paid my dues. I am a conservative on FP and we shouldn’t be pushed around by countries like Iran exporting their violent regime change

Oh no I most certainly am not. I have been unequivocally clear in my protestations on USFP in the ME all the way back to and including Carter, and it’s my opinion that Obama was the worst. I am sick and tired and fed up with American blood and treasure being WASTED in those deserts. SICK OF IT, you hear me @beadencup49???

Now I want Trump to keep that campaign promise now god damn it. Get us OUT!!!

We aren’t being pushed around by Iran, Iran can’t push us around, they’re a pimple on our ass and could be a grease spot in 30 minutes. STOP :stop_sign: with this bullshit. NO MORE US BLOOD AND TREASURE wasted pushing around weakling countries in the ME because of Israel and our MIC.

The reason this isn’t getting out of control is because of President Trump’s steady hand. These idiots decided to attack our embassy, the US provided a response, they thought they provided a response back but really they were either too chickenshit or too incompetent to hit any real targets. I think this whole thing is over with and the media just keeps talking about it because they have nothing else to talk about besides this and the phony impeachment.

President Trump is a clumsy FOOL who brought us to the brink, once again, of unnecessary war. We can be thankful that both China and Russia slammed the US’s recklessness and declared that they have Iran’s back, and that Trump backed down.
