The middle class is the largest block of taxpayers, it makes perfect sense. They can only tax the top 10% so much for they mov to another country, change their earning habits, etc.
When England and France raised tax on the wealthy they collected less in taxes as their citizens quit working, moved to another country

Biden has said that [on his first day as president he will produce comprehensive immigration legislation that creates a pathway to citizenship for 11 million migrants living in the U.S. illegally. Which is a joke as there are between 22 and 40 million illegals in the US.
Biden says he wants to reform the U.S. asylum system and the treatment of people at the border with Mexico, specifically calling for a stop to the Trump administration’s Migrant Protection Protocols as well as to the policy of asylum cases.
$2 trillion investment, throughout his term, to boost reliance on clean energy and climate sustainable practices.
Eliminate tuition at public colleges and universities for families making up to $125,000. Biden also is advocating for private historically Black colleges and universities and minority-serving institutions to be tuition-free.
Just a few more goodies.
As we are now above 27 trillion in debt and the new initiatives and approved spending will likely cost 4-10 trillion more one has to ask, anyone here want to but treasuries???
Taxes need to go up. We have to pay our bills. Trump promised to pay off the national debt and run balanced budgets. During his short presidency the debt increased from 19.8 to 28 trillion and every budget he signed was a record deficit…

I have paid more than my fair share of taxes the past four years.
If the government needs more than that, then they need to held accountable for mismanagement of funds. Can’t blame it on Trump, it wasn’t him that was trying to ruin our lives.
Please stop bringing up Covid numbers and data as well. The global pandemic is being handled by everyone but China, and that data really doesn’t mean anything because it effected the world equally.

Well good luck with that. But it’s not just that. Americans want a hell of a lot of goods and services from their government. It’s got to be paid for. You either raise taxes, cut spending, both, but you don’t keep doing what we’ve been doing since Reagan…
What happens when you want next to nothing? Education is provided for in my county by a wheel tax (willing to pay it), my roads are controlled by fuel taxes, my public services are paid for by the egregious amount of taxes I pay already. Everything else isn’t for me, and I am waiting to see if he keeps his promise or lies blatantly to the whole country.

Well Monty , at least you understand economics and I agree. You can’t continue to print worthless money which isn’t backed by a DAMN thing. Who also besides foreign coutries would buy our T- bills and notes which will lead control of the Treasury.
What politician would push for an audit of the number of US government duplicated agencies , the Fed etc. This would be political and probably a " mysterious death ".
