President Trump to Temporarily Suspend Immigration into US

Good! We already have enough illegals and Visa overstays here. We don’t need any more people coming into this country.

The illegals and overstays definitely need to go. I think we do need seasonal laborers in the produce industry. There are some jobs that our citizens apparently do not want to perform though they may be out of work when such jobs are open.

I do not consider these temporary workers (those that enter then country, perform their work and then go back home) as undesirable.

That must have the democrat globalists seething.

I agree with your take on the temporary laborers. But if employment continues to get worse and worse then there will be a large number of people willing to take just about any decent paying job to provide for their families. I would much rather those jobs go to Americans to the maximum extent possible.

A key part of immigration law does give the president broad power. It says, “Whenever the president finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”

But another part of the law forbids discrimination “because of the person’s race, sex, nationality, place of birth or place of residence,” but only “in the issuance of an immigrant visa.” The Trump administration argues that the power to bar entry, the subject of the first law, is broader than the limits on issuing visas.

Seems he can declare a moratorium per the 1990 immigration law.

“In light of the attack from the Invisible Enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American Citizens, I will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States!”- President Trump

It didn’t take but one minute for demonRATS to declare what crisis and lose their F-ing minds . With 23,000,000 AMERICANS unemployed demonRATS can’t grasp the affect of bring a million additional workers into the Country will have on us .

Why is it so extremely difficult for dummyrats that banning immigration during a pandemic is simply common sense ? You can NOT cure our economy by adding a million more foreigners . It is crystal clear the dummyrats want our economy to remain fractured and the Country to turn socialist .

I believe he should have done that weeks ago. But I suppose it’s always better late than never.

Thumbs up for Mr. Trump!

I was sadden to hear the executive order ONLY applies to immigrants applying for permanent status and others will be allowed to enter our Country and work . That should upset the 23,000,000 on unemployment . :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: :rage:

Actually, the Executive Order states 60 Days before entering the US. That way, the Americans can get jobs. Most of the jobs - in California and other states that border Mexico - are usually taken by illegals. Which leaves Americans scrambling for other jobs.

For those seeking permanent status .

But Trump’s executive order, issued as a pause lasting 60 days, includes major exemptions. So-called essential workers, including health care workers, will still be able to receive green cards, as will nuclear family members, according to a person familiar with the situation. And, notably, the administration will also continue processing visas for temporary workers, the biggest source of immigration at the moment.

On Friday, the administration temporarily removed some limitations on agricultural workers, including allowing them to stay in the United States beyond the three years maximum limit.

That explains why small little Midwest farming towns now look like I might as well be in Tijuana.

Tucker Carlson is about to do a segment on truckers on Tucker Carlson Tonight (tonight being Tuesday, April 21. 2020.)

It was good. Tucker reminded us of what I’ve said many times here and on other forums. Basically it is:

WITHOUT TRUCKERS, YOU WOULDN’T HAVE ANYTHING WITHOUT HAULING IT YOURSELF!

Yes, Trump praised the Truckers last Thursday on the White House lawn ( I think at the Rose Garden). It was televised.
We need truckers because, they are one of the backbones on our economy.

We do need those who will work on farms.

However, what we do need is to track each and every one of them and make sure when their visa expires they are sent back to where they came from.

Also, if they are going to be here on a Visa, they are not entitled to ONE DIME of Government Cheese.

I’m sorry but we don’t need people who come here to pick vegetables staying in this country for over 3 years. That’s just completely ridiculous

They and many others are the unsung heros that make this country work. There is one hell of a lot of backbone that makes this country work and these people need to be recognized for it.

Oooohing and Ahhhhing over what Cher or some celebrity has to say becomes irrelevant when you can’t feed your family.

Having said that, if folks are not going to appreciate them then they need to figure it out for themselves.
