Marianne Williamson Asked White People to Apologize to Black People

Why should anyone apologize for something they never did to begin with? Anyone who agreed to her request is an idiot.

Prior to announcing her candidacy for the Democrat nomination for president, spiritual author Marianne Williamson asked white people at an event to apologize to the black people in attendance for the “evils” perpetrated against black people throughout United States history.

Williamson, whose “prayer” came during her “Love America Tour” at the Unity of Houston Church in 2018, asked the white people to hold hands with nearby black attendees.

As the audience repeated her every word, sentence by sentence, Williamson said:

As I speak, I am going to ask the white Americans in the room to please repeat after me. On behalf of myself and on behalf of my country, to you and all African Americans, from the beginning of our nation’s history, in honor of your ancestors and on behalf of your children please hear this from my heart. I apologize. Please forgive us. With this prayer I acknowledge the depth of the evils that have been perpetrated against black people in America. From slavery to lynchings to white supremacist laws to the denial of voting rights to all the ways, both large and small, all of the evil, all of them wrong, for all the opression, and all of the injustices, I apologize. Please forgive us.”

“With nearly 200 black people in the audience on their feet, Williamson apologized for slavery, lynching, murders, rapes of black women, destruction of the black family, mass incarceration of black men, being called the N-word and systemic and institutionalized racism and more,” according to the Houston Chronicle ‘s Joy Sewing.

Williamson also made similar comments during her Love America Tour in 2016, according to a video uploaded to her YouTube account.

In 2016, Williamson also penned a poem titled “Prayer of Apology to African Americans.” A sample of that poem reads:

On behalf of myself, and on behalf of my country, to you and all African Americans, from the beginning of our nation’s history, in honor of your ancestors and for the sake of your children, please hear this from my heart…
I apologize,
please forgive us.

With this prayer I acknowledge the depth of evils that have been perpetrated against black people in America.
From slavery, to lynchings, to white supremacist laws, to the denial of voting rights, to all the ways both large and small, that abuses have occurred — all of them evil, all of them wrong.
For all the oppression and all the injustice…
I apologize,
please forgive us.

For the denial of human and civil rights, for inequities in criminal justice, for instances of police brutality, for the denial of opportunity, for economic injustice, for all ways that racism has fostered these wrongs…
I apologize,
please forgive us.

These folks must wake up. So far out in left field. No one owes anyone apology for things that happened hundreds of years ago. ABSURD!

I am never going to apologize for being white or for any other injustice done to a minority by others!

What is a racist today? There might be an app out there that keeps track of the definition that is expanding in scope faster than the universe in the moments after Big Bang but I haven’t got around to looking for one and installing it.

Nope.

My Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother came from Germany in the 1880s, learned the language, and settled in a small German Catholic community. My heritage had nothing to do with slavery or slave ownership.

How utterly condescending to all of the people in that service.

The church is called the “UNITY” church. Her message would have better expressed by unifying the people in attendance.

There are a lot of black people who do not feel they are owed an apology and don’t want to be associated with wallowing in the past.

There are a lot of white people who do not feel they owe an apology and resent being told to think they should.

Her’s is a non-unifying, SJW political statement and it has no place in a church (IMO).

So, I deserve apologies for the enslavement of my Irish ancestors, correct?

From Frederick Law Olmstead’s journal. A vist to the Southern states. At a landing on the Alabama River, Irish deckhands caught and stowed heavy bales of cotton after they had come hurtling down a long chute from a towering bluff. When Olmstead asked why slaves were not doing the work, the ship’s captain replied, “The ■■■■■■■ are worth too much to be risked here; if the Paddies are knocked overboard, or get their backs broke, nobody loses anything!”

Well, Old Man River was still a great song.

Pity the guy singing it so beautifully had to also be a communist POS.

The Woke Left assigns race and sexual preference encampments to all people on their plantation. They do so that they may speak for all folks with an ideologically correct and therefore legitimate voice, at least “legitimate” totheir way of thinking (but don’t you dare broad brush them!).

There’s no voluntary association when it comes to the proverbial encampments.

If you’re off the reservation you can consider yourself either an oppressor and Deplorable or that you’ve no legitimate voice no matter what your face may look like.

As I said. How utterly condescending to all parties.

All North, Central and South American Indians were killing, oppressing other American Indians from almost the beginning of time. African tribes where killing, oppressing one another. Asian where killing, oppressing other Asians. Europeans where killing, oppressing other Europeans. As well as cross world race killings and oppression.
Now Luciferianism is grabbing hold of weak minds around the world in unison. Now these devil worshippers require blood sacrifices. The devil worshippers should sacrifice themselves, quitely, no fanfare. Like Judas.

I partially agree with this post. My wife doesn’t feel like any white person today should apologize for slavery. I agree with her.

However I disagree that remembering slavery and Jim Crow is “wallowing” in the past. We must learn and understand the past so that we don’t repeat the atrocities of the time.

There should not be a single white person alive that feels like they should apologize for Slavery. Nor should they feel guilt for it.

However white people (and to a much lesser extend other minorities), who support Trump, should apologize for standing by a racist president. They own this one. They don’t own Slavery…

Seriously?

Dude, get a grip on reality. Slavery exists TODAY. It exists compliments of the border policy the dems refuse to lift a finger to resolve. It exists today compliments of sex slave industries.

We’ve got bigger fish to fry then remembering the “atrocities” we have put behind us decades ago.

I stand by what he said because it isn’t about race. It is about being anti-America. If you support someone being anti-America then you too should go live wherever your ideal of utopia might take you.

Liberal 101: The only slaves in the recorded history of the planet, were blacks on white owned Southern American Plantations. Just thought I’d clear that up. So called Black Kings - tribal leaders did not capture other blacks from neighboring tribes & sell them to Mulsim slavers. That’s all hearsay. All black slaves were captured by whites, taken to West African slave markets by whites, sold to whites, and bought by whites. Only whites captured, bought & sold, and owned slaves; and all black slaves ended up on American Plantations. No blacks in the Americas ever owned slaves. So now you know.
