Man made climate catastrophe

The ejection of material into the air does not cause temperature variance. The Sun still shines and warms up ‘the debris’ floating around. The fact that no light goes through and thus most of the vegetation dies, or other poisons kill the higher forms of life, does not induce an ice-age.

I also think that the standard of her speeches gives it away somewhat, especially when you see her flounder in live interviews.

The more material there is in the atmosphere the more heat is reflected back into space.

That’s the whole premise behind nuclear and volcanic winters and how asteroid strikes can create the same conditions leading to ice ages.

Block out the sun long enough and temperatures absolutely cool off dramatically.

One single eruption in 1916 created a weather/climate disaster that killed thousands due to famine, along with colder than normal temps, unusually large snowfalls and thick ice.

Wow! That is an interesting statement. Can’t it just be re-smelted?

Technology is now being applied to the disposal of plastic (in the UK at least), it is being burnt to generate electricity. EU rules (the are some good points about the EU) stipulate what has to happen with emissions from smokestacks, so I believe there is total capture of the nasty stuff such as chlorides and fluorides.

Interestingly I had to berate one of our local councillors to impress upon him that plastics are made from oil (doesn’t everybody know that? …oh wait, there are people like AOC and Diane Abbott) and therefore burn quite easily, and that looking at it as a business and not as a problem would make things considerably easier.

Not easily or cheaply, it takes a great deal of energy and if you don’t do it just right it simply burns away to nothing.

The Euro’s used to have it right, they shredded and then compacted their burnable garbage into fuel rods and burned it at extremely high temps in dual fuel coal or NG plants to generate electricity.

 . FRUITCAKE!, too!

Can you explain one of them, scientifically? A fairy tale is not a scientific explanation.

You need to read for comprehension, the rest of my post.

I already have and provided the best known recent example.

Particles in the atmosphere reduce solar effectiveness because more and more solar radiation is reflected back into the atmosphere never making it to the lower atmosphere and surface of the earth.

You can see it every warm summer day when a cloud passes between you and the sun cooling your location as well.

Plastic that’s been collected & stored for disposal or recycling is one thing; but the staggering amount floating around the planet is a whole different ballgame. That is a challenge. Problem is, many people are fuckin pigs; and are willing to shit where they eat. Every mile of our highway system is littered with trash. Embarrassing to say the least.

A lot of that plastic could easily be retrieved from the oceans, and recycled in various ways.

Collection of the industrialized powers should get together and force the plastic manufacturers to pay to clean it up and do so.

The trick is, while retrieving it, people must realize, they must stop throwing it overboard or out car windows. It’s the “DUH” factor that must also be dealt with. I always respected the environment; I won’t even use chemical fertilizer in my garden. Strictly fish emulsion fertilizer.

You know the first thing I noticed when I first got to Germany in Jan of 81 was just how clean the country was. You just didn’t see trash, anywhere.

The people took real pride in keeping the country neat and orderly.

If someone accidentially let some trash get away the next person along would quickly pick it up and properly dispose of it.

Fines for littering were quite severe. As I recall back then just tossing an empty beverage container out your car window or throwing it on the ground as you walked along could cost in the neighborhood of 250.00.

We should make a concerted effort to clean up this country and institute some pretty severe fines for intentional littering. Those who can’t pay should go to work on work crews picking up trash.

Texas had a rather aggressive program for many years and still does to a lesser degree wtih our “Adopt a Highway” litter pickup program. Companies and NPO’s can adopt a mile of highway, get free advertising for their entity, and once or twice a month their groups pick up trash along that stretch.

It’s good model to build on.

The pollution of the environment is appalling. The amount of plastic which appears in places that don’t even use it, such as on beaches of some Pacific Islands, is incredible. It is killing higher life forms in the oceans. By the time we figure out if it is affecting the mono-cell life forms it will be too late. Once those are gone so is every form of sea life.

Not much chance of that since there are millions or microbes living off of naturally occurring petroleum seeps.

If you are referring to this post, I must tell you that I read it all.

Your credibility evaporated when you mentioned the Bible, specifically the book of Genesis. Whilst there are many interesting and shocking things written in the Bible, scientific explanation is sadly lacking. Religious tomes are a history of the psyche of mankind and a catalogue of effects caused by man’s ignorance. Occurrence of catastrophic ‘global’ events is usually ascribed to ‘God’ as a convenient support to the postulation that (s)he exists.
