Had quite a few run ins with Verv and we probably have diametrically opposing views on almost everything, which is probly why he flagged a lot of my posts.
That notwithstanding, I’ll miss our frequent interactions.

This is the first forum I’ve ever been a part or where members felt comfortable enough to make a thread like this and question the decision of site administration - but muh free speech is violated.

The quote refers that no boundaries bring no respect. If someone comes into someones house and doesn’t care about house rules that someone is showing disrespect. If warned and no change in attitude, time for him to go.
Same scenario with a country with no borders. Raiders come in with no respect to do as they please. That breeds lawlessness. Legal immigration is what all the presidents have been clamoring about but none up till now have been willing to make a move to support the letter of the law of the land. Then you get a few greedy billionaires, who hate America’s indepenence, that want to bring down the nation so it will be ruled by the “United Nations” and their NWO dictatorship. How can the wealthy elite get their way? Bribe the weak minded and soulless politicians, create propaganda that suits them and break down that which unites good people.
That’s my rant.

I think it is a clash of cultures. Yank culture is all very fake brown nosing and lick arse. Verv didn’t subscribe to that. If you think we’re rude, you should try the French. At least we’re not fake and are more thick skinned.
Do you know why this site is predominantly American with a smattering of just a few hardy Brits? Why are there no other nationalities? I know, but if I told you the truth, you wouldn’t like it and I would get banned for being rude.
There are always /b/ and /pol/, you know. I would start spamming gore if I would, just for fun, but that wouldnt add any validity to the point Im making, in this thread and others.
As a Brit who has interacted with several ‘Yanks’ in this forum and others (met a few in person too) I believe they are no worse than any other ‘culture’, and definitely not as subservient as the British.

Also - have you read your own thread? Being rude was not why Verv was banned. Put your thinking cap on and give it another go from the top.

That whole the French are rude thing is wrong. Travelers who don’t know anything about their culture visit and break their unwritten rules of politeness and when they are treated rudely in response they mistakenly blame it on the French. For instance, its common courtesy to greet the owner when you enter a French shop and to ask permission before you touch anything. Clueless tourists break those unwritten rules and then think the French are the rude ones when it’s the other way around.

Jen, off topic but I use to think most Europeans were snobs, some posters have taught me that isn’t the case…in fact it seem you guys are having similar problems as we do.
But that doesn’t change the perception that lot of Americans view Europeans as snobs.
Yes…I also know Europeans view us as arrogant. And who knows…maybe we are.
