Yep I agree. The February 2020 surrender agreement is evidence of that. So, we’re out, it’s over, and hopefully we see no more of it.
Some things that then-President Trump did were questionable, in my opinion–such as his setting a date certain (in May, I believe) when we would be fully withdrawn from Afghanistan–but many people’s continuing obsession with Donald Trump (more than nine months after he left office!) seems truly unprecedented.
It would probably be much better if we would all just focus on Joe Biden, and not blame all his shortcomings on his predecessor.

That didn’t bother me. You’ve got to get out at a set date at some point, if you’re really leaving, and I believe he was, and in fact was frustrated that he couldn’t get it done before the 2020 election. He sidelined both the Afghanistan government and all our ally’s and went straight to the terrorists to negotiate what HR Mc Master referred to as a surrender agreement. But of course it was a surrender agreement, we won nothing in our 20 years but contracts for the MIC……
Defeating and eliminating the Taliban was not ever going to happen. Leaving, and letting the chips fall where they may, or a perpetual presence was the two alternatives….
