Iran is a paper tiger and not a regional power

In most instances, yes. However, the US is a client state of Israel and is controlled by AIPAC and Likud. Thus, the US is just a proxy by which Israel can control their geopolitical interests.

Ok, well I’ll accept that they use one another for sure…

I knew this guy who was serving in Iraq and he got his ass blown off from an IED planted in a road there. He wore a colostomy bag. He would probably wear it for the rest of his life. He wanted to go back to Iraq as a private contractor advisor for the money. He was in his twenties. He wasn’t a warmonger but he was damaged. Kind of sad if you think about it. Wake up people.

That is so sad. The nasty reality of war. I don’t think those young men are often warmongers. Just naive and patriotic.

Iran remains the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism with funding networks and operational cells working around the world, a US government report said.

The State Department’s annual survey of global terrorism accused Iranof intensifying numerous conflicts and trying to disrupt governments in the Middle East and elsewhere.

Nathan Sales, the department’s coordinator for counterterrorism, said Iran-linked fundraising networks in West Africa, weapons caches in South America, and operational activity in Europe show the Islamic Republic “has no reservations about using [terrorism] on any continent”.

“Iran remains the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism and is responsible for intensifying multiple conflicts and undermining US interests in Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Bahrain, Afghanistan and Lebanon,” Sales told reporters on Wednesday.

The United Statesnamed Iran as a state sponsor of terror in 1984. Other countries currently on the US list include North Korea, Syria, and Sudan.

Iran maintains that its activities support oppressed people throughout the Middle East. The country is open in its assistance to groups such as Israel’s adversary Hezbollahin Lebanon and Shia militias in Iraq.

The report specifically cited the activities of Iranian General Qassem Suleimani, leader of the Revolutionary Guard, who helped organise Iraqi militias against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant group (ISIL, also known as ISIS).

They engage no more in terrorism than the US, Saudi Arabia and Israel.

Libya was NOT involved in the Berlin disco explosion, and the downing of an American plane over Scotland years back.

And yet Libya was branded a terrorist state by the western media.

The same tactics worked (for dummies).

I’m sure Russia was not involved in the downing of the Malaysian plane over Ukraine 5 years ago, which exactly coincided with the massacre of GAZA by Netaniyahu.

Same with the Skripal case.

What a completely dishonest equating of the two.

We put the USS Liberty in the middle of a war and didn’t even follow our own deconfliction protocols by informing the Israelis it was there.

The rest has already been argued to death in other threads.

Our embassy was attacked and overtaken by terrorists not by accident but by intent and our people were held hostage for 444 Days and were only released under threat by the incoming President Reagan to unleash the full force of the US military on Iran as soon as he took office if they didn’t.

Well that’s complete BS, they were not only involved they admitted and bragged over their success.

Flagging my posts for calling out your BS isn’t going to end like you hope.

Good question, much of Trumps support happen to be pro war, just like those neocons around him that are pushing him.

Horse hockey, nobody is pushing him into a war. The only way we’ll be going to war is if Iran keeps escalating things and pushes us into it.

Surrendered the nuclear program and still was regime changed…a lesson for the others…

A very good point…

Within almost minutes of Reagan getting sworn in the Iranians released the hostages, if they were going to do it while Carter was President they would have done it during the transition period from election to inauguration but they didn’t!

Carter is the reason we have the current day terror state of Iran, when the idiot pulled USA support from the Shah of Iran letting the Ayatollah take control who immediately took Americans diplomats hostage and put the Iranians in bondage to radical Islamic religion.

Carter as President was a MESS although after Obama he comes in “2nd” worst President the country has ever had.

That’s complete BS. Iran had Carter by the Balls and after Operation Eagle Claw he wasn’t willing to risk another rescue attempt.

Iran had no intention of releasing the Hostages absent Reagan’s promise to annihilate them if they didn’t.

“History has demonstrated that it’s dangerous when the CIA gets it wrong. And that it’s even more dangerous when a president disbelieves the agency when it’s right.”

JFK tried to break up the CIA and he wound up with a bullet in his head.
The Reagan Presidency was actually run by George Bush 41 who had headed the CIA, (Funny, people make a stink of Putin having been a KGB employee) and had a hand in the JFK assassination.

And when they are wrong, they are really wrong:

Key Judgments

Iraq’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Programs

Iraq has continued its weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programs in defiance of UN resolutions and restrictions. Baghdad has chemical and biological weapons as well as missiles with ranges in excess of UN restrictions; if left unchecked, it probably will have a nuclear weapon during this decade.

Baghdad hides large portions of Iraq’s WMD efforts. Revelations after the Gulf war starkly demonstrate the extensive efforts undertaken by Iraq to deny information.

Since inspections ended in 1998, Iraq has maintained its chemical weapons effort, energized its missile program, and invested more heavily in biological weapons; most analysts assess Iraq is reconstituting its nuclear weapons program.

  • Iraq’s growing ability to sell oil illicitly increases Baghdad’s capabilities to finance WMD programs; annual earnings in cash and goods have more than quadrupled.
  • Iraq largely has rebuilt missile and biological weapons facilities damaged during Operation Desert Fox and has expanded its chemical and biological infrastructure under the cover of civilian production.
  • Baghdad has exceeded UN range limits of 150 km with its ballistic missiles and is working with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which allow for a more lethal means to deliver biological and, less likely, chemical warfare agents.
  • Although Saddam probably does not yet have nuclear weapons or sufficient material to make any, he remains intent on acquiring them.

How quickly Iraq will obtain its first nuclear weapon depends on when it acquires sufficient weapons-grade fissile material.

  • If Baghdad acquires sufficient weapons-grade fissile material from abroad, it could make a nuclear weapon within a year.
  • Without such material from abroad, Iraq probably would not be able to make a weapon until the last half of the decade.

Which was given to Bush and Congress.

And by that logic we should have ended Libya for killing Americans in our embassy.
But we didn’t because it was caused by a movie.
No we didn’t send help because the commander in chief was tired and needed to get up early to campaign in Las Vegas.
No they didn’t need additional security because Hillarys team said they didn’t;t need it.

So we did nothing.
