Have you bothered to read any of the Pentagons annual reports to Congress on the subject over the past decade or so? Or perhaps looked at any of the projections in studies by any of their contractors like the RAND Corp? How about reading scholarly papers by members of the CFR on the topic?
Yes, I realize that, and was not suggesting we did. But you realize that the US has Israel’s back unconditionally from our veto at the UNSC to the battlefield. We provide them with military secrets and a shit load of aid to maintain one of the best military’s in the region.

Yes, we give them substantial money for their defense, but they develop alot of their own weapon systems systems.
Yes they do, that is not in dispute. But make no mistake, the US has their back and that’s quite valuable. If we gave the aid (all aid, not just financial) to Iran, Iraq, Jordan or any other country in the ME that we do Israel, that country would be the top tier in the region.
It’s more like the US has Israel standing behind it in every war the US has fought.

They also have to spend something like 90% of that money with US defense contractors and the overwhelming majority of that military aid is in the form of loans which they always repay with interest and usually early.
The haters never seem to remember that part of the equation.
