Apparently, you are unfamiliar with the tenacity of the Japanese. Every civilian on the main island would have fought to the death had not the Emperor surrendered. His voice was broadcast over radio for the first time to proclaim that Japan was surrendering because of the power of the bombs. He was afraid that Japanese culture would become extinct if the war continued. For many in Japan, this was the first and only time they heard his voice.
Had he not told his people to surrender, they would have died defending the homeland.
Use of the two bombs saved millions of lives.

That is flatly false. The Emperor was a god to them, they would have sacrificed everything to protect him, at least the overwhelming majority.
They also feared brutality at the hands of US forces due to the propaganda to the point that thousands of Japanese women and kids committed suicide as US forces advanced on their towns and villages to avoid rape and torture.
Most Japanese garrisons had to be utterly destroyed and most who survived the assaults committed suicide out of shame.
It wasn’t that we were not up to the task, we didn’t want to see those kinds of casualties on the home Islands.
For each island we invaded our death toll was in the thousands and theirs was many multiples higher.
As we advanced on the home islands those numbers grew by multiples.
The slaughter that would have been required to defeat the home Islands by invasion would have been exponentially worse and something not even Truman and Roosevelt were willing to stomach.
Part of that equation was also practical, we needed a strong and US friendly Japan in the post war era because of the advance of communism all around them.

Flawed premise. The Russian invasion of Japan (which happened between Hiroshima and Nagasaki) plus all the firebombing was what really took Japan down. The nukes weren’t necessary. The US had a fun new toy and we wanted an excuse to use it. Also the argument that the nukes saved American lives is bullshit. Cuckboy Truman inflated his numbers on how many soldiers would have died for years.
America’s handling of Japan in WW2 is probably the only example in our country’s entire history of doing an objectively good job meddling in another country’s affairs. Two quick and brutal punches to the balls to break their ridiculous fighting spirit followed by a dignified and efficient rebuilding and national re-orientation program that allowed them to become strong again and pick up their pride without becoming a threat again.
Japan was a damn miracle. Look at Germany for how it could have gone down, division, self-hatred, destruction of national character, half of the country being oppressed by the USSR. If I were Japanese I’d have a US flag above my shitposting station for sure.
