HBO Max Removes Civil War Epic 'Gone With the Wind'

Yes, moving right back to the Stone Age.

The freedom gone won’t be felt until the goons lose it all. & they will.

As I understand, the script included her saying the N word, but she refused to do it.

She most definitely “made the show” and deserved her Oscar.

…and the goons running HBO would remove her performance from their list of classic movies.

It’s ridiculous to remove THE classic movie of all time from the programming. HBO has been relegated to a partisan, mediocre entity.

Thanks to Showtime, I can watch classic boxing matches.

TO HELL WITH HBO!!!

Have YOU seen the movie?

Mammy was portrayed as one of the family and in many aspects the boss and matriarch. She kicks ass all through the movie. Is that the stereotype?

The civil war was real. It was a war against slavery.

GWTW was one of the greatest films ever made and it had no negative stereotypes of black people. Get over it. Stop listening to BS

Go watch Dr. Zhivago and see why the Soviets hated it.

Furthermore, there is nothing inherently bad about being a Maid Servant for wealthy people living in a mansion and the entire film context is the civil war. Leftist don’t want black people today to see that the civil war was to end slavery and the Democrats and KKK was the same

Class warfare, promoted by Marxists is delusional.

And a war to preserve the institution of slavery. Depends on whether one was fighting on the right or wrong side of it…

Well of course they do. That’s why they are baffled by the folks that pretend as though slavery is bad yet support the statues and naming of buildings, forts and parks to honor the traitors who fought against the United States to preserve the horrific institution…

But the democrats lost. Now their immersed in some kind of bizarre damage control. Tear down those Confederate statues. We were only joking about not ending slavery. If their behavior were not so pathetically sad, it would be funny.

Ridiculous, it wasn’t Democrats fighting against Republicans. It was racist traitors fighting to preserve the institution of slavery. If it was Democrats, then why is it that the fringe right is so damn determined to keep the names and statues of confederates in places of honor, and why does the fringe right so venerate the confederate flag???

It was the DEMONCRATS, just like now. It’s a karma reality.

And who is that??? Or can’t you spell?

The statue destruction is all about Commie destruction of US history. Normal Black people know it’s just US history and also know slavers in Africa, were other Africans and Arabs, selling to Europe and “white people”. Africans had slaves too.

The Democrat/KKK were the racists that sparked the Civil war.

The democrats have a Karma disorder. They are trying to overthrow USA for one world control. Don’t be blind to it.

Democrats manipulate the Drug trade for $$

Then why is it the fringe right that’s all broken hearted that they will no longer be able to display their confederate flags at venues and want the statues of men who fought for slavery left in place…

Because good or bad, it’s part of our history. And the fringe right didn’t organize the KKK.

It was actually a work of fiction and not history. If it were history the racist southern whites would have referred to her using the N word - something that they still use to this day. I’m sure you’re familiar.

White supremacists are fringe right, and they are the ones who are most upset that confederate generals and their flag are no longer going to hold positions of prominence.

No fuckin’ shit, Sherlock! It’s not a verbatim record of conversations or a video of what actually happened during the period it covers. It is a researched novel with fictional character names, fictional dialogue, and fictional occurrences, all woven together and portrayed by actors and actresses dressed in authentic period costumes to present a story so close to historical fact that liberal assholes want it removed from further screenings because it might hurt somebody’s feelings. It’s a depiction of life in the era.

Duh!

You’re really stupid to generalize so much. I doubt you’ve read anything of the actual history of Southern aristocracy or plantation life. In labeling Hattie McDaniel’s character as stereotypical, you are saying that servants just like Mammy were commonplace on Southern plantations.

…but that is the least of your problems.

What freedom have you lost because HBO has temporarily removed a movie from their platform???

Freedom from media platforms censoring content in irrational ways.
