Yeah, and that’s illegal. Besides, W was just butt hurt over an alleged attempt on his fathers life, which could never have been pulled off anyway. Furthermore throughout the Bush/Reagan years Hussein was our ally.
This is not really off-topic because IMHO it is the cause of the refugee onslaught into other parts of Europe. A few crazy men conspired to inflate the business of the arms industry and created the propaganda to support an invasion of Iraq. They then invaded Iraq on the basis that there was a threat from WMD. Due to historical behaviour in the gassing of one’s own people (latterly echoed by the Syrians, it seems) the claims were not unreasonable. Saddam had previously gassed a bunch of people using a mixture mustard gas, cyanide and nerve agents such as Sarin.
I really did expect the European and American forces invading Iraq to “find” something out in the sands. It is to their credit (sic) that nothing was ‘discovered’.
After the fact there was an inquiry in the UK into why the war was pursued. The report was delayed … and delayed as respondents who were named in the report did not give a timely response to invitations to comment…
It is my belief that certain people in the UK are guilty of treason wrt the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
… and then, another fuck-wit by the name of David Cameron, UK prime minister of the day, decided to remove His Highness Colonel Muammar Mohammed Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi from the seat of power in Libya. Allegedly egged-on by the US Secretary of State at the time, one HR Clinton. Thereby another genii’s bottle was uncorked as prophesied by the late Col. Gaddafi. So now there is another stream of desperate people entering Europe via Italy and Spain.
I forgot it’s illegal for a Special Ops Team to grease people ( snicker ). Shit like that never happens. Only in Hollywood.
A lot of “what-ifs” there. As far as I’m concerned, if we need to protect Israel by trying to civilize all of the savages over there, then Israel is out of luck. There’s too many bad guys to kill. We’d be killing over there forever. We don’t have the stomach for it. The only feasible action is to try to contain the cancer. I fault Dubya and Cheney and Rumsfeld for not realizing this and making the biggest foreign policy blunder of my lifetime.
I think (correct me if I’m wrong) that it’s actually a policy that can be removed or waived if a president wants to. I’d be very happy to see a bunch of ayatollahs get “greased.”
Well yes, Americans have grown accustomed to the abuse of presidential power and congresses abdication of their constitutional responsibility so it’s understandable that so many think as you do Jim…
Merkel will go down in history as almost singelhandedly destroying a great nation with her immigration policies.
You are very possibly correct.
Merkel has, in recent months, apologised to the German people for the results of the immigration policy.
Too little, too late, the damage cannot be undone even if they started deporting all of the new arrivals convicted of crimes.
Apparently it’s okay for Obama to use a drone strike on an American citizen, okay for Obama to say yes to killing Bin Laden, okay for Trump to give the go ahead to kill the bag daddy.
…and okay for the Clintons to snuff out over 40 associates that might have known too much about them throughout their political reign.
IMHO, all people that promote the killing of INNOCENT people for simply not believing as they do should be identified and killed. As soon as an Imam makes such a speech, he should be killed. He is NOT an innocent person. Whoever kills him should be rewarded.
Slow & steady wins the race. The key word being “steady”. It took a lot of time to eradicate small pox.
Smallpox was easy by comparison, it wasn’t at all difficult to get the whole world mobilized and motivated to eradicate the disease.
Sooner or later, a man must choose sides. Step up & be counted; or suffer the consequences. An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.
Hard to believe that on top of being a great PM he also wrote most of his own material.
The man was an incredible thinker, speaker, and writer.
