Amyloid plaguing is excessive protein build up i.e. a disease of excessive growth. That is also closely linked to insulin resistance. To prevent insulin resistance, you stop stuffing your face umpteen times a day and quit the stodge aka refined carbs.

You are what you eat! IIRC, the Romans suffered from brain damage caused by drinking from lead cups. Many children have died from eating lead based paint chips.
