Yeah, I was lucky to get the hell out of there. I was taking 95 at the time that led me right into downtown, and was trying to continue but the signs were misleading me. I finally ended up on 295 when it was all said and done. Following 95 was very confusing!
I think we should at federal level start thinking about containment policies so we donât allow actions of Chicagoan to undermine our liberties. Also I believe Americans should see what libs had brought on themselves with their policiesâŚand thus start making the necessary corrections in other cities.
Sometimes people need to see for themselvesâŚto witness the repercussion to âgetâ the message.
I think that is a good idea but it will not be enough. Conservatives and independents need to challenge politicians on the merits of their ideas in open debates. Right now that is being manipulated in order to not allow that to happen in a public forum. Media is one place where they basically have been controlling the narrative in this regards and there has to be a serious challenge to the actual ideas that the left touts as being superior to Conservatives. Like Climate Change, Immigration, Socialism, and any other ideas that they are trying to sell the public on. If honest debates were to happen then that is when hearts and minds can start to change.
If youâre going to carry you should always carry on your body with one in the chamber.
Racking a round can cost you your life several different ways.
Actually I was driving to a Military base at the time, so I didnât have my weapon loaded. The gun I had with me at the time was a Barretta 9mm PX Storm, and I have the version that does not have a safety but has a hard trigger so it has to be handled differently. But yeah I always have my weapon chambered when I am carrying. Trust me you are not telling me something I donât know, I had plenty of training with firearms.
You should know then that you cannot legally carry on a military base either, correct?
Yep! But where I was going has a deposit to check in for licensed weapons! I am not sure if that is still the case today, but that was back in 2009
You need to be extremely careful about POWâs on military bases. In most cases you can only carry an unloaded and cleared firearm in a locked container not within the passenger compartment unless you are active duty/retired and only then is it legel when proceeding directly to your quarters, the armory for storage or to the base rod and gun club. Anything else can land you in federal prison.
Itâs even more complicated because the rules/regâs for each base differ based on command discretion and most commanders are complete freaks when it comes to control of firearms and ammunition.
Best to get the base regâs regarding firearms and ammunition before even attempting to enter the base. In almost all cases there is a requirement to declare the weapon(s) at the gate and tell the MPâs exactly where you are going and by what route if you are transporting either/both.
I am well aware of the regulations and protocols and I had no problems at the time!
You got very lucky. It all changed within weeks of 9-11. Prior to that I could drive onto just about any base in the country with weapons on full display in my gun racks, both overhead and in the rear/side windows with no one batting an eye.
Well it might have helped that I had a high level security clearance at the time.
Wouldnât matter unless you were required to carry under orders each and every time you entered/left the base.
I carried a TS clearance my whole career both in uniform and as a contractor so I know it doesnât exempt you from base regulations.
Itâs comforting to know, Chicago has serious gun laws; and that should put a damper on violence.
It certainly puts a damper on anything that might put a damper on it.
I was just going by what was allowed at the time, and like I said I had no problems, I was following their protocols of base regulations, luck had nothing to do wit it.
"Dueling rallies over Kim Foxxâs handling of Jussie Smollett case held in Chicago
Supporters and opponents of embattled Cook County Stateâs Attorney Kim Foxx held dueling rallies in Chicago on Monday over the surprise dismissal of charges against âEmpireâ star Jussie Smollett last week â a decision that has divided the public, police and political leaders.
Protesters led by the Fraternal Order of Police in Chicago stood outside of Foxxâs office and chanted âFoxx must go!â and âlock her up!â while holding up signs demanding her resignation. Earlier in the day, Rev. Jesse Jackson, clergy, elected officials, attorneys and community activists held their own rally at the Chicago Temple to back Foxx.
Rev. Al Sharpton joined Jackson in defending the controversial attorney and called Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel a hypocrite for slamming Smollett.
âThere is a marked difference between how they reacted to this and how they reacted to the Laquan McDonald case. They were not outraged when the video was withheld until after the mayorâs election,â Sharpton told the Chicago Tribune while referring to Emanuel, police Superintendent Eddie Johnson and other officials. âThere was a fox in the henhouse then, but the fox wasnât Kim then. The name of that fox was whoever was in the mayorâs race.â
The mayorâs spokesman, Matt McGrath, said Sharptonâs statement âisnât worthy of a response.â
Foxx wrote in an op-ed for The Chicago Tribune on Friday that a third-party review into the high-profile case would help maintain transparency. âI am not perfect, nor is any other prosecutor out there, but ensuring that I and my office have our communityâs trust is paramount,â Foxx, who ran on a platform of transparency, wrote."
âWhen you recuse we loseâ?
So let me get this straight: Smollett lied, attempted to defame a whole class of persons, possibly even to spark more race violence ⌠and now he should be protected because of his Black Privilege and somehow thatâs why Foxx is in office?
Actually, given the whole ideology that itâs all about a racial disparity in power that the Left now trades in that makes a lot of sense.
As with everything else, the Left is about Just-Us ⌠not justice.
I seriously donât know how anyone could have any faith in her office other than perhaps blacks now who have been given good reason to believe they can get a free pass on felonies.
