You took the words right out of my keyboard! Colorado, and a few other states are also entertaining this foolishness. I wonder what would happen if the FEC created a rule to do just that.
Colorado has already given its electoral votes up to the more populous states.

They certainly show a lack of foresight or understanding of the far reaching ramifications that will come back to bite them in the ass. 
Apparently this bill has been signed into law by Governor Newsom. This is bad public policy. Nevertheless, I am 100% in favor of it.
We are in a battle for the survival of our democracy. We should be fighting with every weapon available. There can be no hesitation to break norms to defeat an enemy that, in addition to completely ignoring all norms, does not hesitate to break laws.
All Democrats should be actively looking for norms they can break in a manner that (a) hurts the Republicans and (b) potentially sets up a situation in which it becomes possible to codify some of the norms so that afterward neither party can violate them.

They are certainly working on it but can’t be done overnight.
It’s completely unconstitutional. States cannot set requirements for the office or running for it outside of the requirements in The Constitution.
Hmm, now there’s a grand idea.
The state ought to also release any criminal history.
And I disagree, transparency is good for people asking for the public’s trust.

The Democrat Party condones the Fascism of ANTIFA and the violence it promotes.
The Democrat Party promotes socialism.
The Democrat Party opposes capitalism.
The Democrat Party is THE enemy of law and order.
Liberalism subverts the moral and ethical standards of our youth.

SCOTUS? - pack it so it becomes a leftist rubber stamp; Electoral College? end it so that four cities can run the country because they’re so smart (in their own minds), History? re-write it casting the White man as an irredeemable force of evil; police? fire them all and let everyone happily ride the vast herds of unicorns the government keeps hidden; White males?- clearly need cultural sensitivity re-education- perhaps with ‘sleep away camps’…

Cut California from the rest of the union. Stop all out of state commerce at all bordering states. Impose tariffs ( due immediately ) at the border crossings, or confiscate all goods being transported. Shut down all rail traffic.Shut off all power & water from neighboring states. Shut down all underground fuel lines ( gas & oil ). Then get tough.

The leaders of the state have decided to take a Presidential candidate off the ballot for something that is not required to run for President.
Simply because… they want to force it to be so.
Therefore, by taking a candidate off of the ballot they disenfranchise millions of voters. The State of California has now decided FOR you that these are the people you are ALLOWED to vote for.
Wow, and these people have the nerve to talk about people who shouldn’t be required to have ID to vote? How hard it is for them to get an ID? But, hell, wiping a legitimate candidate off of a ballot for an entire state is "d"ifferent 
It’s a shame there are people out there like @CriticalThinker who not only agree with it but encourage it without being able to foresee the consequences a precedent like that would set. It won’t always work in the favor of the democrat party and they could be severely burned by something of their own making.
I rather think they are the party of emotional decision making; instant gratification without a thought for what tomorrow brings. Then, when tomorrow brings something they created they are the first to piss and moan over how unfair it all is, so gotta double down on more of the same and change the rules again. Rinse and repeat.

The Dems continue their quest against President Trump because of their bitterness and refusal to accept the results of the election. Would anyone believe Queen HRC1 of NY would release her tax returns ??? Thats right, they would give an exemption. Comiefornia is acting like the bully on the playground. Let Congress vote for them to establish a self- governing independent country and not receive any foreign aid.
Where is the FEC and why haven’t they filed suit against Commiefornia for violating the Constitution.
