And you know this how?
But somehow you know it to be true. Interesting.
You should enjoy your retirement Sam, I hear there is great sites to see near Brooks Falls to watch the great Salmon feast by bears! It is the best time of the year to do so!
I hope you’re right; but they weren’t joking way back in the 7th century when they declared global domination of Islam and Sharia you know. Don’t believe me? Watch Bitter Lake and you will!
Well the Caliphate now occupies at most a few blocks in a few scattered cites and is being exterminated day by day.
Unfortunately the fundamentalist will always try to find a way to create a new Caliphate and once again spread the word through fire and sword.
ISIS changed the game by taking it online and targeting disaffected individuals around the globe, then building cells and movements out of them.
They still have “recruits” that aren’t otherwise affiliated with the organzation other than online who will occasionally launch a random small attack against small groups and individuals which is effective at instilling fear and keeping huge amounts of gov’t/LEO resources dedicated to tracking and interdicting them but they don’t pose the same kind of threat as 50,000-100,000, or a 1,000,000 man army of Jihdis acting as an organized state and conventional army in addition to the irregulars, insurgents, and terrorists.
You can’t kill an idea unless you kill everyone that shares it but that kind of warfare is no longer politically correct.
There sound logic in the complete extermination of the enemy when they are driven by such an ideology but it churns the stomachs of most people today to even discuss it.
Personally I think that is due to the fact religion has been dwindling since the WWII era and it’s hard for people who really don’t believe in anything to understand those who make their radical faith based beliefs in particular an obsession that spreads like a disease to others.
They have lost over 99% of the territory they once held and about 98-99% of that which they held on Inauguration day in 2017.
Not so, we should just get the hell out of Syria and leave it to Assad and the Russians to eradicate IS. Haven’t we done enough damage in the region ffs? I mean Libya? Iraq? Afghanistan? Everywhere we go, we always make situations even worse??
Lat time we did that ISIS arose, consumed 2/3 of Syria and a third of Iraq.
That is perhaps the most failed strategy of all time.
Had we not gone back in and interdicted them odds are high all of Iraq and Syria would have fallen and ISIS would be the most powerful islamic organization since the last caliphate consumed all of the ME, Egypt, and a third of Europe before they were finally stopped.
The biggest difference is that they would have also had control of nuclear technology, advanced conventional weapons and an unlimited supply of petroleum along with the ability to dictate it’s price.
Short of a nuclear exchange they would have been unstoppable.
That’s good to know. Now, how do you know about the US removing nukes from a Turkey if it is such a well kept secret?
I love when the chum rises to the surface!
Not only do you have to kill all that share the idea, you must destroy all recorded evidence of its existence, such as writings, videos, recorded speeches…any form of presentation of the idea…lest some idiot plant the seed again.
Not sure I agree totally but worth considering.
It is the nature of humanity though to have the same ideas arise spontaneously in different parts of the world at various times throughout history so while your theory in practice would hopefully limit it and make it less frequent the same ideas would likely arise again on a smaller and more dispersed scale.
Our biggest problem is the modern incarnation of “tolerance” says we must tolerate that which is obviously evil because in the post modernist philosophy all faiths and ideas are equal.
I’ll have to think on that some more but if you aren’t completely correct I can’t say where you’ve gone too far wrong.
Why allow the Russians, Assad and Iran to dominate the Middle East and destroy Israel the only democratic style country in the area.
A Kurdish state could be a buffer between Syria and Turkey . They also could be a slight deterrent to Irans destabilizing efforts.
I agree, in some instances we have made a bad situation worse.
I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask you to support your statement: “Nobody knows this but we have secretly moved our Nuclear Arsenal out of Turkey.”
Just the first three words alone creates incredulity as to the veracity of the rest of the sentence.
What I don’t get is why we have a problem with Assad? He is fighting ISIS! That’s a good thing. We want people in the Middle East fighting their own battles.
Assad has allowed Iran to set up military bases from where they will continue to threaten Israel. Which destabilizes the region.
Governing Syria, he’s no better than Saddam Hussein. He’s RUTHLESSLY suppresses the opposition without criticism from world leaders.
He will go after the Kurds and with Turkeys blessings , murder the Kurds to prevent them having an autonomous country.
Assad is a butcher who has killed something over 250,000 civilians in his own country with indiscriminate bombings and WMD’s not to mention being responsible for the largest refugee crisis Europe has seen since WWII.
Tell us how Europe is going to become safer, more prosperous, and more stable with another few millions illegals, asylees, and refugees flooding previously stable countries in Europe.
I have no idea what you are talking about!
Assad must be a nice guy to use chemical weapons against civilians including innocent babies. It probably boosted his standing in the world.
Saddam Hussein wasn’t a threat to the U.S., only to Dubya The Deciders ego.
You don’t really seem to grasp the importance of keeping the free flow of oil through the gulf and it’s effect on industrial economies.
Anyone who threatens to seize control of the flow of oil from the ME is a direct threat to the US and every other industrialized power on the planet since about 30% of the world’s petroleum flows through it.
There is no space between economic security and national security.
I do see the importance of the Strait of Hormuz. Our supposed European Allies should immediately start a convoy system to escort ships and if any fast boats come within eyesight, they should be immediately fired upon and sunk if necessary. It’s the only way Iran will see we won’t put up with their BS.
