I am wondering and actually surprised none of you folks are talking about this issue, but how are you and your fellow citizens are going to deal with what appears to be the toughest internet laws in the world?
This only made the main TV news today.
Whatever happens the public will have no say.
All you Brits had to do was listen.
Margaret Thatcherâs prophetic prediction of the Euroâs failure:
The growth of extremist parties, mass immigration, and unemployment.
"If the divergence between different European economies is so great that even the ERM cannot contain them, how would those economies react to a single European currency?
The answer is that there would be chaos of the sort which would make the difficulties of recent days pale by comparison.
Huge sums would have to be transferred from richer to poorer countries and regions to allow them to take the strain. Even then unemployment and mass migration across now open frontiers would follow. And a full-fledged Single currency would allow no escape hatch.
The political consequences can already be glimpsed: the growth of extremist parties, battening on fears about mass immigration and unemployment, offering a real â if thoroughly unwelcome â alternative to the Euro-centrist political establishment.
If in addition you were to create a supra-national European federation, and the people could no longer hold their national parliaments to account, extremism could only grow further.
It is time for the European politicians to sit up and take note. Time to stop their endless rounds of summits â summitry is fast becoming a substitute for decision-making â and observe the reality around them.
There is a growing sense of remoteness, an alienation of people from their institutions of government and their political leaders. There is a fear that the European train will thunder forward, laden with its customary cargo of gravy, towards a destination neither wished nor understood by electorates. But the train can be stopped."

1992 Sep 19 Sa, Margaret Thatcher.
Speech to CNN World Economic Development Conference.
It wasnât always that way. As new Tory party leader she was on the Europe Express in the 1975 referendum.
Ironically it was probably not one of her own but Tony Benn who convinced her she was on the wrong tack.
The debacle unfolding in front of our eyes was planned from the moment the result was known.
The Prime Minister has lied repeatedly with her mantra of Brexit means Brexit.
The only reason she is still Prime Minister is because no one else wants the job at this time.
It now looks like Brexit could be delayed for another 12 months!
Theresa May is humiliating the UK and The Tory government with all this incessant pleading.
If Brexit is delayed for a year then it will never happen and the will of the people has been ignored.
It was never a binding referendum but the conservatives pledged to honor the result. I would normally say such a betrayal would result in a massive loss in a general election but no one wants Corbyn as Prime Minister and UKIP are not a viable third party.
A lot of people in the UK could not believe when America elected Trump.
All parties and sides are in on this globalism crap.
Yâall are going to have to join US in some out of the box leadership if you donât want to be serfs in service of Globalism.
May God bless you, I hope that you fall out of the EU by the incompetence of your âelitesâ. Beware, some/most will try to inflict pain on you. These assholes are nothing if not predictable.
Throw off the chains on Friday!
Looking likely that Brexit is never going to happen. The ramifications and fall out of that are impossible to predict. Everyone thought the Prime Minister was out of power a few weeks ago but here she is still Prime Minister and still begging Europe for concessions.
Maybe that is the plan - we stay in long enough to collapse the whole fucking edifice - I used to think that Germany would leave before we did - still think its possible.
Many people have said this, I donât see how it cannot be binding when a) it was held specifically to capture the will of the people after Cameron got the big Fuck-Off from Brussels and b) the turn-out was massive.
In the UK because of the parliamentary system the results of a referendum can be ignored by the government or parliament but the Tories pledged that they would act on the will of the people.
Now with another extension I really do not see the UK leaving europe. Not sure how much longer May and her government can survive.

No referendum in the UK can be legally binding. Constitutionally, Parliament makes law.
Weâre now extended till October, but I doubt that will be our leave date. Still betting on a second referendum personally.
Maybe that is the plan - we stay in long enough to collapse the whole fucking edifice - I used to think that Germany would leave before we did - still think its possible.
Or maybe just maybe there is no fucking plan and there never has been.
Just a bunch of incompetents who quickly realised they had no way to deliver what was expected, and no way to tell Brexit voters that truth without torpedoing their own careers.
The way to deliver what was expected was to not try and pull a fast political sham with this âdealâ. We could have spent 2 years making the transition smooth into WTO trading terms and have spent 2 years arranging great trade deals with the world. Instead, May promised business leaders that despite losing migration from E. Europe, wages would still be kept low by immigration from Africa and Asia.
It is, as the title of this thread suggests, betrayal of the worst kind.

No, we couldnât have spent 2 years arranging trade deals. We are legally blocked from doing that until after we leave the EU.
Instead it was always going to be a mad dash after a hard crash, where we would be desperate and every potential trading partner would know it. The US for example made clear it knew it had us over a barrel and would be able to dictate terms.
The sinking realisation amongst the Brexiteers in Govt is that no transition to WTO terms would be âsmoothâ.

Please, as if we couldnât have made the preparations. This already happened.

None of them tried very hard, outside of the ERG.
