Soccer is WAY DOWN on the list of popularity in the USA.
It’s already “boycotted” (quotes deliberate) here simply as a matter of lack of interest. They could declare a boycott, and then the next day say, “See? Now nobody is going to soccer games!”

Further, the Dallas team isn’t just some random high school team. It’s a collection of elite (for that age) players.
I get his point. He might be exaggerating some words, but he’s right saying that the women’s team isn’t as skilled as a men’s team at their own level, and even so men’s teams at lower levels.
But that’s not what drives salaries. It’s the BUSINESS of the sport, the entertainment value, the revenue generates. No matter how good a women’s team is (or is not) in any sport (not just soccer), it just doesn’t have the audience draw that men’s sports do. Salaries are set accordingly.
