I used to have an Army Survival Training Manual (one of those tan, pocket-sized paperbacks) that I supplemented my Boy Scout Manual with. It was great for basic stuff. Unfortunately, my older brother hi-graded it from me (along with a bunch of other emergency survival gear) insisting that it had always been his.
