Continuing with its extortion effort of businesses its business model expansion, “review” website Yelp – which in the past has been accused of making business owners pay to get negative reviews taken off the site – is now also getting into the business of social justice. The two just go so well together!
Yelp said in a blog post on Thursday that it now going to be appending a “Business Accused of Racist Behavior Alert” to any businesses page where they have been accused of racism.
“Yelp’s User Operations team already places alerts on business pages when we notice an unusual uptick in reviews that are based on what someone may have seen in the news or on social media, rather than on a first-hand experience with the business,” the blog says.
It continues: “Now, when a business gains public attention for reports of racist conduct, such as using racist language or symbols, Yelp will place a new Business Accused of Racist Behavior Alert on their Yelp page to inform users , along with a link to a news article where they can learn more about the incident.”
Good! Consumers have a right to know if a business is actually run by racist nazi Trump supporters. Those businesses don’t deserve a cent and their owners deserve to be financially ruined.
Isn’t it funny watching all of these “free market capitalists” and “rugged individualists” panic at the slightest amount of corporate accountability to allow consumers to make an informed decision as to how they spend their money?
True free market capitalism is not what we have. We have fake fiat currency as money (probably the most important aspect of an economy) and a super powerful federal government that has been bought by big business. Without the guns of the government pointed at taxpayers heads business would have to survive on its own merits.
Right because the ideology of free markets and private property inevitably leads to takeover by statist monopoly. It’s not a problem of this ideology being implemented impurely - the ideology itself was self-defeating.
Then the state is the problem. Any super powerful state will be corrupted, unless we abolish commerce and money and go back to subsistence farming and barter. Which has honestly I’d be fine with.
I see no way to force people to all have communal property and production without an elite decision maker class.
Lastly people hate being forced to do something they don’t want to do, so not allowing freedom of choice for what to do with the products of your labor and not allowing people to own some private property is never going to work. People will hate it, resist covertly and overly of they can, and the majority won’t do anything more than minimum effort.
