Why Doesn't The Entire Civilized World Rally Against North Korea?

Again y’all, we’ve made it so that anyone can create a topic on virtually any subject and if we are missing categories we are glad to add them…but please let’s keep this discussion focused on North Korea.

■■■■ (at least most of them) never left Palestine.
They are there today as Palestinians.

North Korea may be a crazy country, but what’s really crazy is the fact that phonies are persecuting the genuine ones.

We should really discuss this matter in a “civilized” manner, which is impossible, unfortunately.

North Korea, despite its craziness, did achieve something which corrupt South Korea hasn’t.

Americans spend more on their pets than the entire GDP of NK.

It’s ridiculous for the US to be wasting time, energy and money on that country.

Much more than double that. We don’t generally eat them.

What’s your point rp?

Causation - we spend a lot of money on our pets so we are, in effect, reluctant to waste all that money by eating them.

I think it would be wonderful for North and South to both, do well and be at peace. The North needs to reject Communism and China’s control and prosper.

They can stop eating Dog and everything.

During the Korean war the code word told to their Western prisoners for Communism was “progressive”. A film called the “Bamboo Prison”. used that term frequently.

Another film, narrated by Ronald Reagan reenacts life in the Korean/Chinese Prison camps and re-education our GI’s experienced.

North Korea is mostly an Atheist country.

Religion in North Korea[1]

Non-religious (64.3%)

Korean shamanism (16%)

Chondoism (13.5%)

Buddhism (4.5%)

Christianity (1.7%)

Religion in South Korea

Higher % of religion in the South

No religion (56.1%)

Protestant Christianity (19.7%)

Korean Buddhism (15.5%)

Catholic Christianity (7.9%)

Islam (0.4%)

Other (0.4%)

Wikipedia does add this :

" Similarly, in officially atheist North Korea, while Buddhists officially account for 4.5% of the population, a much larger number (over 70%) of the population are influenced by Buddhist philosophies and customs.[10][11]"

Interesting statistics, even the questionable exchange rates are taken into account.

Every time the US meddles with a foreign government(s), nothing good will ever come out of it.
Neither for Americans nor the foreign people(s) concerned.

You probably ought to review what followed.

Idiocy. We spend that much money on pets because we care about them. We don’t eat them because we care about them and because there is a cultural prohibition in the west on eating them and in most of the west the same even extends to horses, donkeys, and mules.

We tend to largely view them almost with the same deference we afford to our children/families.

You probably ought to review what went before LOL

No need for review your statement was idiotic.

I see you never learnt what irony means and I can’t be bothered to explain - the adults in the room understand what I meant.

Your statement was baseless and idiotic. We can all see that.

Whatever…

I saw a North Korean who survived a labor camp & escaped to SK tell the interviewer, some people in the camp actually ate vomit. ‘I was so hungry I ate rice out of vomit’: North Korean …

That might explain why they eat their pets - causation.

Even when we are doing what’s humane & right, we are rarely appreciated. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back we rebuilt Haiti’s infrastructure. Look at Haiti today. A pest hole.
