To the southwest, Russian troops have recaptured three strongholds on the eastern outskirts of Kleshcheyevka and south of the village, where the forces of 24 and 60 mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are defending.

As for Hungary, there is a region where Hungarian is spoken, and it may create a direct link to Russia, which means Russia and Hungary can jointly build oil / gas pipelines to Hungary and Serbia.

I thought it was in Ukraine’s interest to keep its northern frontier (with Belarus) quiet. Question is, where the order came from: Kiev or just a local commander.

What I didn’t like was the fact that Russia did nothing while the NATO bombed and destroyed Libya, Medvedev was President then.

True. We still don’t know the exact circumstances of the Ukrainian missile hitting Poland and killing farmers there. Who gave the orders?
Needless to say, the hype and hysteria of the western media — screaming “Russian missile hitting Poland!” — was a very dangerous thing.

Thanks for sharing this article, this was a pretty cool story that I vaguely recall. Probably too young too remember this incident.
The flight pattern was interesting and I wonder if he just said WTF I am doing it once he turned from Stockholm.
It would be kind of a cool short film that can be made from this story.
The western media is still pushing the narrative that Ukraine is winning.

Why is he saying that now? As Alex Christoforou points out, Poroshenko, Merkel and Hollande want to undermine the Russian support for Putin by making him look stupid for being suckered by the west.

Turns out it really was a trap because it’s costing the Ukraine military losses while it has to maintain a virtually vacant city for nothing.
Russia can easily shell military objects from the east bank of the Dnieper.

I wonder when they are going to make a move, the longer they wait the more time NATO has to build up forces.
I guess when the takedown of the Ukrainian air defense system is complete. The ground is frozen enough for Russian military vehicles now to make a move.
Or maybe the Russians want to capture Bakhmut first, so that the west will give up on Ukraine completely.
The Russians are not in a hurry, like Col MacGregor points out.
