Uighurs are a Turkic minority in China.
The Chinese government has been engaged in the brutal campaign of genocide against the Uighur people, a Muslim minority group living in Xinjiang province in northwestern China for decades. Uighurs have been subjected to mass surveillance, compulsory re-education in state-run camps, forced labor, and sterilization. Thousands have been killed, and countless more have disappeared. The Chinese government is attempting to erase Uighur culture and identity, and there is little international pressure to stop them. The world cannot allow this atrocity to continue. We must speak out against the Chinese government’s actions and demand an end to the genocide of the Uighur people.
