He’s not interested in facts, never has been. Anything that doesn’t fit the meme must be rejected.
One need not look any further than Saudi Arabia and Jordan, two very staunch US allies to prove his statement to be a lie.

Iran is the number one exporter of terrorism in the world and has been for four decades.
Now, understanding that read Mattis’ remarks again.
If you want to stop the spread of Terrorism around the ME and Africa the first thing to do is deal with Iran.
Realistically, if this were to happen it would involve most GCC countries. You’ll have persistent airstrikes coming from the armies of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, probably even Qatar. Not to mention they’ve agreed to let Israel use their airbases. This can actually be won, but it will come at a cost. You have multiple nations going against just one, Iran does not have any real allies that will go to war with these countries. Iran does have the upper hand in some things, they can simply attack the oil fields in Eastern Saudi and attack Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Manama and Kuwait City. They can easily pulverise their main cities costing them tens of billions in damages.
However, it should be mentioned. If this war kicks off, I would expect something to kick off from Syria and Lebanon towards Israel. Ultimately, the whole Middle East will go to war. Out of the whole Middle East, only Oman will remain stable and at peace while everyone else will be in war.
Not a bad theory but Iran doesn’t have the capability of doing any serious damage to the cities of the countries that will be aligned to stop them.
Terrorist attacks on critical infrastructure are a real threat though as they have over 4 decades of practice perfecting their craft.
All of those nations however are rich enough to hire all the security they need.
War always comes a cost and people complain about that cost while denying or ignoring the cost of not going to war.
They always claim to know more than the generals. Great generals like Eisenhower and MacArthur who didn’t support the civilian leadership that pushed targeting civilians with nuclear weapons included.
Ike and MacAurthur both intentionally targeted civilians in the bombing campaigns against Japan and Germany.
The civilian casualties from those campaigns were orders of magnitude higher than those resulting from the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined.
The United States is the number one exporter of terrorism, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Russia, etc., can jokey for 2nd and 3rd.
Russia and China aren’t going to let that happen easily.
Well that’s been proven over and over again to be a lie.
Iran is not now and never has been a threat to the US.
Forty years of attacks on the US by Iran and even a basic understanding of keeping the free flow of oil through the gulf show otherwise.
Iran can force the industrialized world into a depression over night by closing the straights of Hormuz.
They can force us into a deep recession simply by targeting oil infrastructure and tankers in the region.
Why keep repeating lies?
